Oddy Springomizer DIY

Using Oddy V2 with springomizer spring and cotton:
It's christmas and I forgot to buy ready made wires for my Oddy! And I have to say, I was never really happy with my coils and cotton. Too fiddly!

But I notice that Imeos Springomizer spring fits perfectly into the Oddy V2 ceramic.

So I looped NonRes-Wire (nickel) around the first two wraps of the spring and twisted the wire. The springiness help to make good contact.
I got 1Ohm. If you want lower resistance, loop the NonRes around more wraps. 4 on both side results in 0.7 Ohm. Too low for me ;-).

With a toothpick I placed the spring.

Try this with 1.5 Ohm ready made wire!
Like with springomizer I put less cotton inside the spring.

I used both ends of the NonRes on each side. And I kept it as long as possible. I want to try to reuse the spring with the NonRes attached.

I put the wick as usual the channels down. Cut the wick flush to the channels results in flooding.

Ready to vape. I have to open the liquid control a little bit more (2-3 turns) than usual (1-2 turns with 1.5 Ohm ESG-wire ). Wonderful warm (ceramic) flavor!

My first try on my other Oddy after 3 tanks. No coloring of the ceramic.

New life for my beauty!

Because of the wider ceramic and the two channels I didn't get it work with Ithaca. But I will try it again.
And because i didn't have a Penny with ceramic, I couldn't try it. Maybe one of you can try it and report here (or sell his Penny to me ;-)

Pretty cool!!, Very resourceful.
I will have to try the Penny V1, but don't think there is enough room between the channels inside the ceramic.

You are right, keighles.
But if you like low resistance, you can cut away a few wraps of the spring, until it fits into Penny.

maybe custom made negative base like springomizer has that will sit between center post and lower nut and a positive base that will be in touch with housing
