Ody and bottom feeding mods

Can you use Ody in dripping mode with a bottom feeding mod? I just got a Phidias Woodimus Feedimus from a fellow GG member, and I'd love if it could turn into my normal on the go 6v mod for my dripping mode Ody, but I'd hate the waste the bottom feeding option. Im thinking about adding 2 1mm wicks that go from the center of the coil down into the base of the cermaic housing where the small nut inside the cermaic is to help wick juice up to the coil. I'll post pics and details of my results when I get the mod in the mail. GGTB+dripping for now!

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I am thinking if you built dripping mode with 2 wicks 1 in channel like normal the other wick ends dropping down into the ceramic it should work. When you squonk the juice should either go up the pin into the ceramic or into your drip well to be sucked in through the side holes. Make the channel wick long enough to go down to the o-rings like in the origional video. Wick inside ceramic covers juice up through the post and wick down to the o-rings should cover the juice in through the side holes.

Nope I forgot about the air intake. Since ody gets it's air through the center post I don't think it would work.

Please do It may work with the air going up the channels but I have a feeling it would be a tight draw.

I am still waiting for an open-centerpost 510 extender to arrive here, that I need because Ody will not fit my REO Grand, the REO's catch cup is a tad too narrow.

What I can say, though, is that it works in principle if your mod has a catch cup at all, and as far as I know, all working bottom feeders do.

Ody will not only breathe through the center pole, but through the side holes just above the 510 threading, like china atties do as well.

The feeding works with a standard Ody-Wick-and-Wire in the dripping mode. You just need to squonk your bottle a tad harder because the inside of the ceramic needs to fill before the liquid reaches the coil. Then the liquid is sucked back into the bottle, leaving a nice wet coil.

I will report when the extender arrives and I can really test it.

I have a POS Boge Revolution 2.1 feeder, so I'll try it with that tonight. It really is a piece of .......so the test will be more to determine how the draw and wicking are affected

I don't have the expansion kit for the dripping atty, but I've been bottom feeding my short mode ody on one of my Grip VvF's for quite some time now. it functions just as an atty (although I do a dry pull to help the juice get to the wick easier when I squonk

It looks BEAUTIFUL, pure PV elegance. The juice feed is wicking to a normal Ody coil just fine, but the draw is SO TIGHT that it's pretty unusable unfortunately
I'm gna try it again with the ceramic housing screwed much further down so the connector pin sits lower.

Quick update: Got my open 510-510 adapters today to bottom feed my Ody dripping mode with a REO Grand.
I can say that it works, but it needs a bit more fiddling with o-rings before it is good. I'll report back.

Ive been using Ody in drip mode on my mini Monkeyboxx with a 510-Ego adapter and it feeds great and I have no problems with air flow

Okay, unfortunately I am not a fotographer - these shots will have to do.

I got my adapters from two retailers:https://www.madvapes.com/Shorty-510-Extension-and-Connector_p_2987.html and 510 to 510 adapter | extender. Both adapters are actually exactly the same.

I removed the extra nut on the adapters and saved it for later. I grabbed an o-ring (Size R-03, 5.00mm ID x1.80mm SD) and put it on the threads of the adapter, to close the drip-cup openings of the REO. I then screwed the adapter into the REO, and I had to screw it quite hard to still have the thing make contact.

When I used a slightly bigger o-ring (R-04, 6x1.80mm) I couldn't get it to work.

I measured the REO connector to make sure I didn't short the thing out, but it was ok.

So, after that adapter was installed I could go ahead and add the Ody in drippping mode. The draw is still a bit too airy for me, but overall it works well.

I will try making a special bottom feed wicking with wick reaching into the ceramic cup, but for now - Ody and REO works.

Looks great. You don't even need to modify the wick, just give it a good hard dry toot when you juice it.
