Hello. My first time here, and I have never EVER taken a puff from an E-cig. I have smoked tobacco for 33 years, and I can feel it in my lungs. My boys (9 and 10 years old) HATE seeing me inhale those lung darts. I am ...... off and bitter, because I only found out about e-cigs last night. I am ...... because apparently it is ILLEGAL in Canada. Health Canada is probably getting greased by Big Tobacco. Information overload online last night. I watched You Tube reviews, Googled everything e-cig related, decided I didn't want to go to Couche-Tard (Canadian ver. of 7/11) and buy a Blucig after hearing not so good reviews about said Blucig. Then I almost punched in my Visa on a Greensmoke from the U.S. when I saw that all Greensmoke products coming into Canada are being seized by Canadian Customs. (If you guys south of the border don't know how much corruption is going on in this country, just check out the track record of the current mayors of our 2 largest cities (Toronto and Montreal) on Google. You'll hear allegations of Crack use and Mafia involvement. LOL What a drama up here! And right about now our Prime Minister would be facing impeachment if he was leading your fine country.)
Anyways.....I just contacted a web & Brick and Mortar store whom I found on this forum not too far from me. Apparently Health Canada says it is illegal in Canada but still turn a blind eye. I asked about the V3 Phalanx and they told me it's a (I can't repeat it here). So I like their honesty, and I am going down to the store now and hoping I can start the final "I Quit Smoking" Chapter of my life.
I have tried The patch, Zyban, nicotine inhalers, cold turkey, Allen Carr Easy Way method, gum, etc, etc.
I hope this works.
I don't want to die of lung cancer.
One last rant. Why would Health Canada ban e-cigs, that contain only nicotine and propylene glycol...when real cigarettes contain thousands more harmful chemicals? I can't wrap my head around this.

I'll tell you all what I purchased when I get back from the store with my new ecig.:2cool:

Welcome to ECF, dahlialady!

It's the same story everywhere....all you have to do to find your answer is to follow the money.

E-cigs take a little getting used to, but once you've got a decent setup, the technique right, and some good juice it's amazing how relatively easy it is to stop smoking. Pull up a chair, hang out for a while, and good luck to you!

I don't blame you if [Or When] they do that to us I'll go ballistic. Shouldn't we be free to do what we want with our bodies.?

Quit or Die. It's a disgrace.
I'll say it again even though it's been said a million times before.

How can these governments give into BT Big Tobacco Interests and Bp Big Pharma interests and Tax Revenue issues and ban a product that is probably less harmful then smoking.

It's just amazing that the wellbeing of the population is trumped by the $$$$$$$ interests. I have a 1 year supply of nicotine in my Freezer. Your post is making me want to buy another years supply!!

Welcome to the world of vaping =]

Check out :

Vapor Joe's Canada at http://vaporjoescanada.blogspot.com/

Done Deal Vaping at Vapestrong - Home

Great deals at Vapor Joe's site and Done Deal Vaping is a very informative show explaining new products where you can ask questions and have your questions answered in real time.

Better to ask questions and get answers before you head out and waste a lot of money on vape gear that you may soon grow out of.

Welcome to ECF dahlialady ... as a fellow Canadian I agree with your views on BT greasing HC to suit their $$$ greed.

You have found the holy grail of eCig info here on ECF (check out the Canada sub forum) ... here is my advice (it worked for me to quit a 30+ year habit).

Buy a good setup as your main quitting device and pickup a cheaper device as a backup (you don't want to ever be without a vape). Buying something good is the best way to curb the cravings ... don't skimp at your venture to give up smokes (it will actually be cheaper to go big out of the gate).

I bought an eVic ($120, which is less than 2 cartons). I wanted a clean and simple device without worrying about working my way up with something that might not do the trick (eg. GreenSmoke).

I doubt I will become a true hobbyist, as my main goal is to quit smoking and have had tremendous success (I can never say never about the Provari) ... take a look at CanVape (they are in Toronto, however they are a well respected Industry leader here in Canada and ship very fast via Xpresspost). Make sure you sign up so you can view the nic juce (try some Halo or Paradise, because quality juice will also help you win this battle).

There are others online (even in Montreal) ... however with CanVape, I know you will be well taken care of.

I look forward to hearing about your success ... quitting is quite easy if you go with quality over quantity.

Cheers :2cool:

Welcome and lots of great places to get ecigs and such in Canada. I will warn you ahead of time that most any cigalike sized device has poor battery life and does not work very well. Most of us started on them and quickly moved onto a device that works like ego batteries and clearos. While you may think they are too big they are actually the smaller devices that is worth using.

Salut Dahlia,

If you live à Montréal as your info suggest, there is a brick and mortar store on St-Denis between Sherbrook and Maisonneuve (I think) or St-Cat definitely. It's called Vaporus....

There is also, La Vape Shop in Verdun. (Never been there though)

Vaporus as some good gear and very good juices.

Have a good day!

Welcome to ECF!

Thanks to all for reading my rant, and your helpful replies. @ Steam Turbine....Vaporus is exactly where I was. I purchased the V3 eGO Spinner. Loving it so far. As a menthol smoker, I purchased the menthol juice, tried a few others and also purchased the honey juice...which is very melon-like. DELICIOUS! Very happy with my purchase so far. I can smoke....er....vape indoors without stinking the entire place up. No more going outside in minus 20 degree weather. Don't know why I didn't think of this sooner.

Welcome!

Do check out the Canadian sub forum FlamingoTutu provided the link for. All sorts of nefarious things happen there to get you what you need. Ok, maybe not so nefarious, but that's where you will find your specialized info needed to deal with vaping in Canada.

ETA: You will need to get in 5 posts in the New Members forum before you can start posting in the Canada sub forum, but in the mean time you can read away there.

everyone seems to be forgetting something very important....vapers are voters too...and at the rate smokers convert, we prolly could start our on government....we all need to make politicians that make the rules understand that they are working for us and get paid by us....not the other way around!

DahliaLady,

That's excellent! I'm glad you chose a VV for your first setup! Post 3 more times (and then wait a bit) and you can ask to get a PM for some Canadian online suppliers! They will PM you a list, but it's not posted.

So, just send a couple more responses in this thread (nobody will mind!), and once you get up to 5 you can post in the Canadian forum.

I am impressed that Vaporous got you into the setup you chose. Also, I think you've realized that regardless of what you used to smoke, what you vape can be totally different! (For me, Marlboros and RYO -> Cinnamon Bun, Absinthe, Dutch Apple Pie, etc. Haven't gone near a tobacco flavor!!!)

Welcome to ECF! Time for us all to kick some governmental a**h**e butts. Or convert your friends!
