I know it's a bit of a thought the idea of having to wade through 48 pages - but as has been said they are not big pages - and this is an important document.

If as intended this is to be used as a briefing pack after having been read digested and doubtless used in training and subject to meetings/discussions this really is a very positive step forward for vaping.

This in the UK is a positive step...and quite frankly it amazes me that albeit a day late and a dollar short some common sense and truth is coming into the proceedings.

Did you read it all? Do you have some kind of mechanism in place to stop you from reading the whole thing, once you start, if it begins to seem like skimming would wiser?

Plenty more questions, but I'll stop there.
I did read it all and in fact, the last 10 pages are just a list of references, so that cut it down to 38 pages (including the front cover :D) It was a fairly easy read and not too technical - which does tend to get me skimming and switching off ;)

It's only 38 pages. The last ten pages list all the references.
Perfect all-in-one-place listing for anyone wanting to delve deep into the subject matter of vaping.

Obviously the authors did a lot of checking and reading up to compile the leading 38 pages.

And yes, I read the 38 pages :)

300 years back, ANTZ ( aka the inquisition ) would confiscate and pile up all the hard copies of this work to burn the authors on it. Too bad for them that it's 2016 now and we've made - a little - progress :D

And the study comes from a corner that wants to assist people to get away from burnt tobacco. And their goal-oriented approach is pragmatic and sensible: Whatever works. No ideology. No sermonizing. No trying to boss around peeps. No power trips.

They view vaping as another efficient tool in their tool kit.

Cuz vaping works.

http://www.ncsct.co.uk/usr/pub/Electronic cigarettes. A briefing for stop smoking services.pdf

This link leads to a long 48 page document which is worth reading through, is not biased against vaping and en passant covers the exaggerated reports of serious lung damage caused by vaping in its Q and A Section.

I am indebted to my newsfeed and Vapers Network for throwing this up and seriously commend reading it.
I read the whole thing. It's useful to give someone to get a comprehensive view of most vaper's point of view. The weaknesses were few and most because never smokers are trying to write about smokers. If nicotine were the only issue then patches and gum would work. I think any journalist who wants to report on ecig health issues should be pressured to read this document. The same goes for legislators and policy makers.

Thanks. And to the others recommending reading it. I've downloaded it now, and so far have read the conclusions.

It was an interesting read. The recommendations how to start introducing vaping to smokers, the examples what kind of language to use clearly shows how early days vaping is for stop smoking services, how distrustful they've been this far about vaping. 2016 in vaping to them is what 2007 and 2008 was for us. They're taking first steps in understanding that vaping is a solution not a problem that needs to be included in their programs. I mean this is huge step forward, this is common ground for everyone involved. This is how you can actually start helping smokers to switch. I wish we could see the same happening in the US
