SO I lost my lavatube...
I'm wondering if I should just wait for the Vmax.

Anyone know if they are good or not. I don't see any review for em yet.

Haven't seen much yet, I am gonna hunt around youtube for these foreign language reviews that Mindfield is speaking of to see it in action :)

They haven't hit this side of the world yet. I've seen a couple of reviews in German and Russian, but being that I couldn't understand them I just looked at the pretty moving pictures. :) Functionally it seems quite capable. It's really just going to come down to build quality, potential issues with the electronics or other unforseen things, but I'm quite interested in exploring it, and I'll certainly have a review for it as soon as I can.

Well the connection has to be a bit loose or there is no air flow. There is vapor but very little flavour. Someone on ECF said that if it's not an Ego battery then the SRs are "SOL" when it comes to flavour. The carto has to be the problem...

Weird. I can understand the airflow problem -- usually a 510-510 adapter could solve that issue, but I can't see the battery type being the issue, all else (voltage) being equal, or approximately so. If anything, standard regulated eGo batteries are lower voltage than many clones, which are not regulated and have a higher starting voltage (4.2v vs. eGo's regulated 3.3v)

Quoting what I was told:

"As well, i have heard the if it is not A Genuine Ego (this link shows you how to tell) then the higher voltages and SR carts are SOL with flavor"

Yeah I'm also trying to wrap my head around the logic, the whys & hows, but too much of a newbie to understand.

As I said in the thread you are quoting, SR cartos are not going to be the best performers on an ego type battery, you would be much better off with LR. This has nothing to do with genuine or cloned batteries, the person whom you have quoted is incorrect IMO, it is all about voltage.

Problem is I asked when I bought the Fat Boy if SR cartos would be ok. Could have easily picked up some LRs when I was right there, instead I've had a unit that was meant to keep me happy until I receive my mods, but isn't. Granted the battery & charger were cheap but just wanted to let Canvape know for the next time they sell a Fat Boy.

YEah, gotta agree with this. If nothing else genuine eGo batteries would provide a weaker vape. There's nothing that they do differently other than use a PWM regulator to bring the battery's duty cycle down to an equivalent of about 3.3V output. (Basically, only lets it shoot out so much voltage.) Unregulated clones should provide a better vape, though with an SR carto it's still going to be on the relatively cool side at around 4.5-5 watts or so. They really need a higher voltage device to start kicking ..... ;)

I completely agree with this.

Happy to see Boge XL's coming for tanks - wondering if you can hint as to when they might be available. I was just about to order some smok-tek single coils for the same reason but would wait for the boge - just want to kick up the tank system on my lavatube.

And a question for anyone - 1.7 single coils in a tank on a ego-t, good idea or not? I suspect it would be too much and I should just stick to the LR dual coils (which do work quite awesome anyway)

Just wanted to say Thanks again Mopar and the rest of the canvape crew - you guys are doing great and continuously adding awesome stuff to your inventory, really appreciate it. :)

Note to Canvape - SR Cartos do not work well on the Fat Boy. Wish I had known cause I needed the battery to tide me over and it's not. :(

I have a cpl of these batteries I would agree that SR pretty much sucks way to light of a vape but they work well with the LR stuff like 1.7 smoktech also work well with the LR stardust's. And you have to leave cartos loose or its like trying to suck a bowling ball through a garden hose.

The problem is with the question you asked: "Would they be OK?"

Yes, SR cartos are perfectly fine with the battery. However they don't give you the vape you want. No one can predict how well you are personally going to like a vape. Some people like an airy pull. Gotta test and see. That's part of the vaping journey.

Hey Mopar, for those of us that were/are waiting for the new EVO switch- are you guys just gonna send them out or should we e-mail Tom to request it

Yea wouldn't hurt. Everyone else that needs one should do the same so we don't miss forget about anyone. I've been hitting a stardust on the thing with the new IC and I think I have to cut my nic back again or stop using. The thing is crazy! no wonder you all risk life and limb playing with it also the V3's are stocked in which have safety vents and can fit IMR batteries for added protection.

As for the steel, I just shake my head.
