Here's a little comic relief... from a local band back in the 70's:

"This song "Down at Greasy Lee's" was based on a true story about Greasy Lee
who owned a burger joint on Marine St. in Manhattan Beach CA.
Greasy Lee got arrested for pinching a bikini clad beach goer
with his french fry tongs. A record of this song was also made and it
was heard quite a lot on the Dr. Demento show in the 1970's
The Mike McCollum Band was a folk/country rock band from the South Bay.
It consisted of Mike McCollum lead vocal, Dave Haut & Lou Mannick Background Vocals & Mike Schimberg Bass guitar
Marc Dambrosi Choreography"

I saw (no pun intended) a couple of them play a few weeks back, and said that I would wear my "Free Greasy Lee" button if they put me on 'the list'... they did, and I did!!
It was fun to see a lot of old friends there...
(and of course, they did the song, but nobody could remember the words... LMAO)

Growing up in SoCal (L.A. area), our "local" bands are too numerous to mention...
The Turtles and The Doors played at our HS dances, but I was still in Jr. High and couldn't go
We ended up with bands like the Strawberry Alarm Clock and The Seeds... Ha!!
