Since we don't have that much to discuss these days, one of my other addictions are watches. I got a great deal on a Swiss Mechanical (automatic) JeanRichard watch. Here, have a look. Discuss!

Good morning.

Kinda slow across ECF SR. It's summer.

I've gotten into bigger watches. One of my watches is a dive watch, hand made in Germany. Most of you have no idea I had a review of it published in a national watch magazine last summer. Here's a link to the article and a wrist shot too.

I love Omega. No doubt about it. They make exceptional watches. Better is subjective, however. In comparison to what I paid for this watch, the Omega would be 8 times more expensive. Is the Omega 8 times better. Not in the least. That Omega costs a minimum of $8,000. It has a mechanical automatice movement. The JeanRichard I just purchased has a Swiss mechanical automatic movement and it originally cost $5,800. I got it brand new from a reputable dealer for $1,083. Is my new watch as well made as an Omega? Without question. It's all relative though, because some would buy the Omega, simply for the name. Of course, they'd get a good watch in the process. But they'd also overpay for that name and not get a watch that is any better than many costing quite a bit less.

You dig?
