Speaking of Loki Labs delrin rings makes me wanna cry. I bought several of them & cannot for the life of me find where I put them at.
Been looking for those rings for almost a year. Wherever they're at I hope they don't feel I abandoned them.[emoji38] Maybe they'll turn up now that I'm posting about them.

So, Coldgin made mention of this in an email to Stacie.... I pulled 50 Adapters.... that's FIFTY... And I pulled 25 DIFFERENT PVs including an assortment of ProVaris from several different eras...

The result.... 100% connectivity.... UNTIL... I put on some "Beauty Rings" on several of the ProVaris.

My conclusion is that the 510 connector is NOT a standard. If somebody could direct me to a SPEC SHEET for a 510 connector that tells me DEFINITIVELY where that 510 pin is going to be, then I'm going to just have to say sorry folks... the Adapter isn't a fail... the 510 connector is. If the pin is too short to use with a beauty ring that doesn't belong there in the first place, and was not designed by either ProVape OR HoH, then how is my adapter, that connected to 100% of the test devices a fail? It has a snug floating pin... should I loosen it so then it can fail because people lose it?

I rarely get heated about this stuff but I have been saying FOR YEARS that the 510 is horrible.

I mean... come ON... the 510 connector is the problem. (And by that, I don't mean ProVari 510s... I mean ALL 510s... it's a moving target)
Yeah, I'd get pretty angry if someone talked smack about my baby too, even if he really was ugly! :w00t:

Sorry, but it doesn't work that way. You must completely forgot about them.

Mocked Again

As usual, I was looking for something. Digging through piles of paper and pictures and Lord only knows what. I'm not a hoarder, I'm just completely disorganized. Part of me wants to chuck everything I find into the trash, I know I would feel much better, but I tend to put things inside of other things. It's quite possible that tucked between the pages of a magazine from 1982 or inside of the registration notice for a car I haven't owned in over 20 years, is my passport or a photo of my late father. ADHD is a ...... Dig, dig, dig.

Of course, I found a number of things I couldn't find at the time I wanted them, plus a few surprises - like the undated, unsigned draft of a short story. As I skimmed over it, wondering where it came from, it became apparent that based on the type of spelling errors and the content, I must have written it, but I don't recall ever seeing it before in my life.

I started to get a little excited! I was finding stuff! Maybe, just maybe, I would come across a couple of things I've been trying to locate since I moved to Reno 11 years ago. I played it cool. I tried to focus on what I started looking for this morning. I tried to block out any thoughts of what I was hoping to find now- La la la...I'm not looking for you...Nope, not at all...I wouldn't care if I never found you...

But by then they knew. I could feel it. They were likely crawling deeper into a box of slides from the photography class I took in 10th grade or scurrying into the pages of Puppies and Kittens, which was one of the first books I learned to read. I could almost hear them giggling, mocking me once again.

Thanks Mike, I stand corrected in that the 510 is the culprit. I don't know too many folks who would use the Kabuki with the adaptor on a V2 ProVari without a beauty ring. If I had access to a lathe I would have simply cut a new pin with a longer shaft and been done with it. Perhaps I could have worded my posts a little better, but I do stand by what I said, for me, wanting to use the Kabuki with adaptor and beauty ring on my V2 and 2.5 ProVari's, it is hit or miss on whether it will work or not. That is a truthful representation of my experience for folks to consider.

P.S. The beauty rings that are the culprit are the "tank rings" sold on ProVape's web site.

I'm a real good hider of stuff when I drink. I have put stuff away 2-3 years ago that I still haven't found.

Lucky I ain't drunk all the time or I wouldn't be able to find anything!

I am fairly unorganized in general, but my vape stuff is kept together always.

If I make the pin longer I PROMISE you the complaint would have been "The pin is too long, and now there's a gap" from 99% of the vaping world... remember... that 510 adapter is designed to fit as many 510 connectors out there in the world as possible, NOT just ProVaris with tank rings. In fact when you consider that, the adapter isn't a fail... it's a pretty darned good solution for most people. There's no such thing as "one size fits all" in vaping.

I'll tell you what, despite the pain and problems we go through with new releases and, at times, having to prove our point to Zen, it sure is nice that we can do that.

What I mean is what we pay for is not only the best of the best American made but the very opportunity to be able to call customer service and get it taken of. If there's a problem, I can actually pick up the phone, make a call and someone will actually answer. And... I BET if I didn't like the answer or results (which has never happened) I could ask to speak to Zen and at some point, I could.
When was the last time you had a problem with something out of china and could call overseas and get it taken care of or even speak to those ultimately responsible?
Look at how we circle the wagon and he comes in here, takes it on the chin and let's us know the skinny.

Bottom line - The reason I still do business with HOH is the fact I can make that phone call. I have the opportunity to let Zen know how I feel and get results. That, and the Kabuki is the best damn tank on the planet.

It's all about customer service and HOH comes through in spades!

For those of you who for the adapter is a fail, call HOH and report back here with the results. I bet you'll be happy with the end result. Don't be afraid, you didn't know it wasn't going to work for you...

Yup. Well said. I think many of us are much more critical and outspoken regarding American (or Canadian/European) made gear than Chinese due to the substantially higher cost and perception of higher quality.

Did I personally go a tad overboard b!tching about a broken $9.99 Kabuki tank? Sure. And I wouldn't have even mentioned it if I broke a Kanger or Aspire glass tank. In fact, I would have cut my losses and not even bothered calling the manufacturer or retailer.

I relate it back to the poor buggers that make my guitars in Brooklyn... I am a total P.I.T.A. if something isn't perfect, but I pay top top dollar and am very likely a super loyal customer for life.

Same with ProVape and HoH... expectations are high as the perception is that their products are the best. I think they are and I love my two Kabuki tanks and dozen Provaris.

I am also looking forward to meeting Zen at the Toronto Vape show in May. :)

I'll give him a call and see if he can make an extra long pin for me that I could seat in with a jewelers file...

That's not out of the question.
And that right there is why you are the best Mike! I owe you an apology for any aspersions cast, I should have got on the horn and sorted things through, I let my frustration over the little issues get the best of me. I can get a little wound around the axle when I encounter things that cause me frustration.

Don't beat yourself up over it. Who can blame you, really? I keep having this reoccurring dream I have to prove my findings to be true. Don't know if that would be the case or not. Like I said, it's a dream... Doesn't matter, I'm moving on. Even though I know in the end it would be be taken care of, it isn't worth the hassle or even the potential of a hassle. The only reason I checked in the first place is because of the posts on here.

Now, where's my latest HOH order? Probably come while out of town to see doctor. :)

Oh yeah, and thank you Zen, for having a pretty thick skin. :thumb:
