^^^ I think you're right JW...I'm not expecting a power increase either. I'd really like to be able to shut off that blinking low batt light...or lower its on threshold to about 5-8%...hope springs eternal. Catch ya on the flip...it's zzzzzzzz time here.

Serious question: (really)

I've seen the light blink issue mentioned a few times now as regards the P3 (Ocelotta and the rose of the tea). What's the deal with it? What seems to promote an issue about it, and how is it different than the 2.5s?

I may not know all things Provi, but with the 2.5s, one simply removes the batt. Is it not the same on the P3? Is the percentage of batt remaining all that different?

Hi all, I hope you don't mind the intrusion. I'm new to ECF, but have been lurking for quite awhile. I've been vaping for over a year, and have already adopted a few 2.5s, P3s, and just pre-ordered a Radius. I'm addicted! I've followed this thread for awhile and feel like I know a few of you already. This feels like a comfy, safe place. Hope you don't mind if I join in here and there.

Not an intrusion at all! Pull up a P3 or a 2.5 or a Radius and make yourself at home!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Currently in hand is a Tiffany Blue P3 with Silo tank, Drakes Vapes, Drakeula. I pretty much chain vape and have a few favs, so tanks and PVs loaded up next to me!
Feel at home here! I, too, read more than I post, but what a delightful group of people here. True Ladies, Gentlemen and Scholars...I learn a lot and many of the contributors could be playwrights or writers for sitcoms! Best entertainment and knowledge source on the Net...don't forget the Radius and other threads at ECF. Welcome!

Kat, people seem to get annoyed that the P3 blinks for about a minute when the battery hits 17%. I guess it's because there's still a few (many?) vapes the battery can eek out. Now me? Doesn't bother me. When I get to 17%, I just pip out the battery and pop in a new one. There. Blinking light solved.

Alright, I might as well bring something up that's been on my hardware hacking brain. I wonder if the PCB in the Radius is physically the same as the PCB in the P3 (dimensions, cutouts, button location, screen location, etc.). Might be interesting to completely void the warranty and do a brain transplant, and finally get my 40W 18650-only P3! Only issue would be the +/- buttons, since there doesn't appear to be any way to change wattage in the menus... The new polished/satin hybrid has been calling my name, but can't justify it.

Yes, dear one, I get that. Tis annoying to some to change a blinking batt. Perhaps it's the middle of the nite, or the middle of a road trip. Mine (2s and 2.5s) do that as well. I think I'm asking why this became an issue with the P3? And if it's different than the older Provis.

It is different on the P3. It's certainly more insistent, but truth be told, I don't quite remember when or how long the firing button blinks when the battery is too low on a P2.5

Usually around 3.4v (about 20% remaining).

V2.5 Provi...

Lo = OF... no dying battery blink, only a dead battery blink.

Lo = ON... Dying battery blink, seems to be about 4 or 5 drags worth until dead battery.

Much shorter blink cycles.

P3 = No way to alter the Low Battery Indicator. (sucks)

P3 = Low Battery Indicator comes on at 18% of remaining battery power. Blinks for a time and stops. You take a drag, and it blinks for a time and stops. (this warning is far earlier then V2.5 warning) and is not user selectable. (sucks)

Best I can describe it right now, Jim

The way I under stand it is Blinking light tells you that you have say 17% power to fire the wattage and ohms you have it set for. Drop your wattage by a couple and the battery indictor will go up. Try it you will see It worked for me.

I dunno. If and when mine blinks and I don't feel the urge for a batt change, I just tell it it's in a time out and turn it to face the wall.

That, or one can unscrew the cap, let the batt slide out a bit, then instantly put it back in and screw in the cap. It will give a little more life and vape time.

I can't decide which is the lazier of activities. That, or replacing a battery.

I think Ocie is talking about the other blink issue which occurs with ver 36.

When it is time to change the battery it blinks too little. It's kind of anemic.

You get a blink and then maybe you get another, but it is all very lethargic.

It bugged me for a while, but I've come to kinda like it that way.

Now, what is news to me is that ver 38 only blinks alot for about a minute at 17% and then settles down until end of battery life. If that is the case then I will be updating ASAP.

Can someone confirm that?

I was under the impression that ver 38 just kept blinking from 17% until end of battery life. That would be annoying.

I'm getting along better with the spring too. I've been using the larger battery sizes which makes it much easier to screw the P3 together and apart.

Oh, and Hi 5Rivers, pull up a chair and have a bacon taco why dont'cha?

Thank you, jwb! So the P3 blink is a wimpier blink, eh? A lethargic blink. That is, until you get to v38, then it's robust for a minute, you vape, then robust again.

I'm still not sure what all the issue is. I love that Provi lets me know when it's time. No other mods (of mine) do. They just quit, bah-bye. No kiss, no hug, no naaaathing.

Hence why I truly appreciate my P3 gives me a kiss before kicking me out of bed. Light blinks, I replace the battery. Takes what? 10 seconds to replace the battery, right?!

On ver38 it blinks for like a minute, then stops, until you vape again, then it blinks for a minute then stops until you vape again. When mine starts blinking, I just change out the battery for a fresher one.

Thanks 'Brow.
