It's up to the individual dealer, but my dealer will update a P3 for free, regardless of where it was purchased. They're great guys that way!

I personally think it's lousy for a dealer to charge anyone an update charge. The programmer itself cost the dealer only $200 and the update itself takes less than 3 minutes. Providing a helpful service, just might get a dealer a new customer who just might spend money in their store. Just a thought.........
Not the Update Crap... Again.

When will it end?!?

Deleted. Missed your point. Um, like completely. At least I think I did........
RB, I went thru such a mess with the last update...

I'd rather be shot then do it again.

Maybe I'll just send it in this time.

My local ProVape Dealer did them (ProVape) no favors.

The only guy that is in my neck of the woods, about 1.5 hour drive, is a relatively small shop in a small town. He stocks ProVari's because he just likes them, and he is a crazy collector... I burned more in gas driving there and back, than the ten spot he asked for the update. I could easily see how this guy might just never get his 2 Benjamin's back that he paid for the upgrader. I didn't mind one bit paying him for the service...

I don't remember this, so I'm sorry. I'm serious that if you'd like to send it to me, I'll have my dealer update it, make sure it was done right and send it back to you. Yes I will.

Yes, that there was funny! But poop! How'z come when my P3 IQ is higher, I do better on crossword puzzles? Huh? How come??!!
Because at those times, you are no longer fretting what the IQ value of your PV is, and can concentrate on other important things

Prolly so! But trut be told, I stopped worrying about IQ some time ago. I do check it on occasion and as long as I'm somewhere near "great" I don't worry. When I first got my P3, I obsessed over it. This is an improvement!

Thanks to you, IQ is really on my radar but only because I am using my P3 at as close to 20w with a 0.5-ish coil as I can.:)

Without knowing about stretching the spring or keeping my eye on the battery, I likely would have gone crazy.:p

Kinda weird to stretch a spring when wattage suddenly drops, but at least I know what to do now.

A guess this isn't a problem if vaping 1.2-1.9ohms at 8-12w....

Yes, at the upper limits, it's wise to keep on top of IQ. And yes, at lower watts, it's not as important. I'm a Tootle Puffer and vape at 1.6 ohm and 9.8 watts. I'm glad to have been of help!

I'm just guessing the dealer wants to recoup that $200 they initially had to spend.
In 2.5 yrs I've been to many B&M in different states & only one carried ProVaris.
The rest never heard of 'em.

Honestly, I wish I could say that was true but I've been to shops where the only person blowing clouds was me.

When I first started shopping at my vape shop, they were all mechanical dripping cloud blowers. Fast forward to today. The owner of the shop all the way down to every clerk in the shop are Tootle Puffing on a Radius and Kabuki! Ha!!

To your comment about recouping the $200 cost. OK. I can buy that. But if they are, I'm wondering how many of them stop charging for updates when they have made back the money?

Probably none. As in vaping, all shops are subjective as well. Yours may be fabulous & put the customer first. I live in the 'hood where they could give a damn about all that- it's about making money & ProVaris aren't flying off of shelves here.

Out of the people I've helped get started vaping, the only way they'd own a ProVari is if I gave them one of mine & that's not gonna happen.
