I've learned not to tightened anything on the P3. I had a Kabuki stuck on a Radius, but not on a P3 - what has happen though is the Rüzgars bottom twisting along with the beauty ring, so it all comes apart. What I do now is stick my thumbnail between the Rüzgar bottom and the ring to hold it down when I twist it off.

This happened to me last weekend when I was out of town. I have had no problems at all with the 510 locking to the atomizer, ever. I go out of town and finally had the nerve scale down what I took with me, because of the extended battery life on the Radius. I took 1 radius, and one mini 2.5 with some extra batteries, and two Kabuki. One 510 on the Raduis and a P3 on the mini. The 510 locked to the ring the first day, and when it did, it raised it just enough that the Kabuki would not make the connection to the firing pin and I got the OP message. GRRRRRRRR! I had nothing with me to try to get it off, so the trusty mini 2.5 got me through the weekend. I was beyond aggravated!!

When I got home I tried multiple suggestions I had seen here on the forum to try to get them apart. Nothing worked. I was leaving it in the freezer for 5-10 minutes each time I tried a different method, including all the suggestions on the Provape site.

I was ready to give up and open a ticket because I did not want to damage my Kabuki--I tried one more thing since it was late at night by that time. I drenched the connection with Olive oil and put it in the freezer overnight. I took it out without many expectations, used a penny in the grooves and it turned smooth on the first try and came apart.

I will never leave town again with a 510 tank on a P3 with the ring! Lesson learned well because I was miserable with only one flavor the whole weekend. The trusty 2.5 worked flawlessly :)!
Slant top 2.5 ProVari for the WIN!!!

I love my GP mods but I do have a tendency to over tighten anything I touch. Best thing I have found is a rubber jar opener. I got mine from Empire Mods but its the same thing from grocery store. Probably found in the canning section and round. Used more times then I can count. Its a saviour when wanna vape.

Posting here because this is one group I know is full of ideas!

Bought an Ataman II from a reliable member here, brand new. Unfortunately, when I got it I rinsed it and let it dry and then threw a build on it test it out. For some reason, the atomizer became fused with my 510 adapter and I can't get it off for the life of me!

I've tried freezing it, running through my ultrasonic cleaner with a soapy solution, and a pair of vise grips clamped on each piece. It will not budge. I may be left with trying to cut the connector off. I have destroyed the Provari 510 adapter and ordered another one (forgot to order the beauty ring though, damn!) so it doesn't matter what I do to that.

But, who would I even look for that could cut it off. I don't any tools like that, so what kind of business would I look for in my yellow pages?

And I tried to get spare parts from the manufacturer, they don't make them. So this baby is useless unless I can get this cut away.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I hate to see this, and such a beautiful titanium atty :(

I would much prefer to have a one piece interface, and deal with whatever gap may or may not occur due to differing 510 dimensions, than have that sick feeling in my stomach when I realize that the P3 rings have a death grip on my 510 atomizer.

I would gladly buy either option, for ALL of my P3 threaded mods, in a heartbeat.

I think you were the first to bring this up, and I can't see why this can't be done...granted, I don't have a P3 or a Radius, but I do have 2.5 Tis with that ghastly 510 adapter and a shiny new MB GEM Ti that I am dying to try out, and if that 510 adapter chewed it up you bet I'd be upset!

If Provape is unable (or more likely, unwilling) to make the change, I wonder if @Zen~ could do it. He fashioned a nice one piece adapter for P3->510, so I bet he could make a one piece adapter going the other way. I'd buy 3 on the spot for my 2.5 Tis.

I like the idea of the P3 adapter from a connectivity and structural stability standpoint, but really, what's the point in it if there are only 2, maybe 3 people making tanks with the P3 connector? Since it seems 510 or bust from here on, I wont be buying any more P3 top cap upgrades on 2.5s, now that Zen has come out with a good P3-510 adapter...the Kabuki was the only reason I wanted it in the first place.

Yep. I carry a spare P3 w/SS Kabuki and a couple of coils in a cigar caddy in back of Jeep. 2 Spare 18650's in a battery box in my, "electronics bag" along with car charger, under front seat and always have a U-Can w/10ml of juice. I also have spare 510 connector in case all else fails and I have to purchase a pack of Blu cartos. I will not be denied!

It's kind of ironic in a way, that this condition happens. It was my understanding that the two rings were designed, so that one could screw an attie down, and if there was a gap, you could screw the outer ring up to meet the base of the attie. This is what I remember from the initial P3 thread. Now we have reports, and it has happened to me, where these rings are locking onto the atomizer requiring destructive force to remove them.

I would much prefer to have a one piece interface, and deal with whatever gap may or may not occur due to differing 510 dimensions, than have that sick feeling in my stomach when I realize that the P3 rings have a death grip on my 510 atomizer.

Perhaps a different thread pitch on the P3 rings outer surface and the beauty ring would eliminate the possibility, or likelihood of this condition.

I would gladly buy either option, for ALL of my P3 threaded mods, in a heartbeat.
First off it can happen on any mod with a beauty ring that is adjustable. I had it happen on an evic and a few other mods. It's an annoyance for sure but not the end of the world. All these radical methods being used are overkill.

All you really have to do is put torque on the 510 adapter using a coin in the slots on the bottom while holding the atty. With that torque on the 510 to loosen it take any object with a bit of heft and a plastic or wood end and give a few good raps on the beauty ring at a slight angle putting the shock in the direction it will loosen. It will break loose in a few hits. A little lube on the top surface will go a long way to prevent it seizing.

Also a good habit to get into is to hold the beauty ring in one hand turning the mod/ring in the opposite direction while doing that first turn of the atty. if the hand holding the mod is also holding the beauty ring you can't turn it with the hand your holding the atty with.

Hmm maybe I should make a vid showing how to do it.

I dont have any more ego threaded tanks - can you take the beauty ring off and put a ego on the 510 part?

No, but ego adapters work.

Provape made a P3 to Ego adapter with 3 cones that reduce the top part to various mm diameters.

I don't think we hear much of it as Ego threaded attys have pretty much left the scene....and live in back up and stash boxes.

Those rubber jar openers see more action on vape gear than they've ever done to any bottle in my house. Come to think of it.... I don't remember when's the last time I actually opened a bottle with one. [emoji12]

Have you personally experienced a lockup issue with your P3 topped ProVari devices yet?

Yep. A few times when I first got it which is how I figured out what causes it. Done it on purpose to a rose v2 and 510 kf4 so I can jus pop those on as if they are p3 thread.

I use a mini vise with a c-clamp base I can mount anywhere to hold the coin and a tack hammer to hit the beauty ring when I need to take them off.

I don't have a Kabuki so I don't know the design. But some people get their attys stuck on the ring because a fill screw or air flow screw loosens and drops below the surface of the atty and gets caught in a groove on the ring.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give that method a try.

What causes it most of the time is when you go to remove the tank, you grab the beauty ring as well and give the beauty ring a slight turn often without realizing it. Since the threads are a different pitch than the 510 threads you create a lock similar to tightening two nuts together.
I think what happened with mine is that I had just cleaned it because it was brand new, and didn't let it dry overnight. There must have been some residual moisture that leaked from the bottom of the atty, and when I removed the atty that moisture must have stuck the beauty ring to the atomizer bottom and caused that to turn. Result: a death grip.

It's on the way to Provape. Lesson learned.
