The possibility of updating my p3's, should future updates become available, makes this purchase worth it even if it doesn't pan out going forward.

For $30 I should get one but I only have one P3. If Provape does close it doors I don't think they will having any new updates 
Totally agree. I just added one to my Radius order. I have no earthly idea of what I will do with the programmer but for $30 I couldn't pass it up. I spent almost that much in gas for the round trip to my nearest dealer the last time I needed an upgrade.

I have 2 P3's and would order a programmer if shipping to Canada wasn't more than the damned programmer!

It's what was only available to retailers to update the P3. That's about all I know, but I snatched one up too----why not, I have P3's without all the upgrades.
There is also one just for the ProCyon which I know even less about.

Can someone help me with this as I had only V2 and it wasn't upgradeable - what will happen if you don't update your Provari? Or what do you get from the update?
I ordered P3 last night and I presume it will come with last update. But if it's not, what will be the difference with uodated one?
Or to sum it up - should I buy this programmer?

I do believe most of the ones direct from ProVape have been updated to latest and final version. ProVape states there will be no more due to FDA rules. If yours is not, it's no big deal IMHO. Some have never done one update and are happy vapers and many of us haven't done them all.

As long as it's still doing what I want it to do, I don't worry about updates. It might possibly matter to someone if you at some point want to sell it.
If something happens to me, I think I'll have the wife box em all up. and bury them with me. She wouldn't know what else to do with em.
I could see the updater being useful if somebody buys a used one on an old version software and wanted the newer versions, but again, no big woopie on that. I was talking with a store owner the other day that got a P3 prototype way back in the early Release days, he is still running it on the original firmware, and told me his works just fine and he has never had a glitch with it...
There aren't going to be any more firmware upgrades according to all indicators, so if my P3's are all working fine, which they are, I'm not going to spend money on a device I have no use for, I'd rather get another Attie or two.
The Procyon thingie is just the cable.
It's the same updater box, but a different cable for the Procyon.
I suspect you could use the Procyon cable on a P3 with all the rings on.
I may be quite wrong. But, when I went to a vape shop to upgrade my P3 software/firmware, they connected it to the programmer which then connected to Provape.
So, if right, if Provape folds up shop or just doesn't introduce new software/firmware, then owning the programmer buys you nothing.

I'd suggest getting Willy's, Enaud's, and Zen's mailing address...
Welp, you're no fun. I thought I'd get one and plug it into my coffee maker.... you know, a kitchen upgrade.
Good move buying extra Radius bottom screws. Damned expensive at $8 for two stupid screws, but lose one and $8 will seem like the deal of the century.
I have a couple of extra sets and I always charge via USB.
