Have you tried performing a loaded voltage test? Can you tell if it hits harder with the atomizer just screwed into the unit vs screwed into the DCA? I think you mentioned you felt a little cooler vaper with the DCA on? Also, does the interior (306 to dca connection) perhaps get any juice residue on it?
No, I haven't checked it loaded, but yes, it hits harder without the DCA. I attribute the coolness to the length and design of the unit.
And yes, the interior and threads of the 306 get juicy.

My apologies for turning this thread into a DCA/aluminum discussion. Doesn't belong here, this should be a celebration of the Precise. I'll start a separate thread if anything more comes to mind, or maybe you could.

No problems snork! I suspect you may not be seeing it on the inside because the juice is acting as a poor mans anti corrosive. Since aluminum is highly susceptible to oxidation, by being coated with a thin layer of juice, it's providing an oxygen deprived environment on the aluminum, thus limiting its oxidation rate. Just speculation as without seeing and testing it, it's all i can do:)

I should mention one thing about aluminum, once it does oxidize, it ceases to oxidize much further as that oxidized molecular layer protects it, problem is that oxidized layer is extremely resistent to the flow of electricity :(

Since this will be my last post on this topic I'll keep it right here.
For some reason the oxidation/soot issue has gone away. Soon after I posted the above, I cleaned the threads of the DCA and also the P+ atty connection with alky and all connections have remained clean since then. So now I'm wondering if there was some residual substance from the machining of the DCA which needed to be cleaned/worn off.
Anyway, it's all good now. Real good.

That is great news Snork! If the problem ever creeps up again, you could try just a touch of dielectric grease or vaseline on the DCA threads and DCA center post, it'll help against oxidation.

Scuzzy picture of ten pounds and untold dollars worth of precision.
18650 6 volt 3.5 ohm iken atty. Helluva hot vape! Wow. Again, wow.
18350 1.7 ohm 901 Empire shield. Helluva cloudy, cool, tasty vape!
18500 1.5 ohm 306DCA. Somewhere in between there, best of both.
10440 with an HH.357 Untested. Too askeered to use a $22 atty yet.

I am! It's weird though, there isn't any person I know off the Internet that has any appreciation at all for what I do or what I have. It's a very solitary pride. Hopefully one day we will conquer the world.

What's probably even weirder is that there are many people who vape who don't have the right appreciation for what you have either... You can't truly appreciate a Precise until you see it in person and hold it in your hands. It's simply as good as it gets!
