If you work that many hours and have a new baby dont you think you might be taking on a bit too much. Jules was here a lot and if this thread could police itself why did she have to put in so many hours. I think yous hould really be thinking harder. The option for someone to take over was not up for very long after we all herd the news and we are so in shock and saddened that others who have more time on their hands may not have been able to put their name in the box. No offense at all.

And your probably right. And if it turns out to be the case, I'll make arrangements for it. But for the time being, I kept true a previous offer to her, and I'm a man of my word. Those hours are a "worst case" thing, and (hopefully) there's 2 other mods here to help as well.

I only did what I thought was right to keep it all together. Like I said, I'll not see PIF fall apart without a fight

if it was me i would devote all my time to the newborn and my job cause that is what makes the world go around i do not see how you can manage there is not enough time in the day.. just my .02...

Well, for the time being, we've still got Clumsy, and I'll most likely have to take on another mod for a total of 3 like there was, if anyone's brave enough to take on being a mod

i 100% agree with this...being gone for half the day everyday is a recipe for failure.... and whoever said getting rid of the PIF thread altogether...WTF? THATS the original thread, thats what the whole PIF group is about...if we get rid of anything the co-ops and other BS should go FIRST...getting rid of the PIF is like taking the orgasms out of sex...you could still do it, but whats the point.

This is a valid point, and very well may be considered.

Edit: if we do continue doing co-ops (past the 510 co-op already in progress), maybe we should appoint ONE person to run them all? And at that rate, who would be willing to do so? And who would we like to/trust to do them?

hrmmm to expand on my previous post a bit....perhaps renaming the PIF thread to "get and give" where it's business as usual....
And then maybe start a donation thread where people can donate hardware and juice or whatever...maybe find a person to run just that thead and collect stuff...and a thread to go with it where people in the group can post on behalf of others (either from the need thread or where ever) and if there is a need then the person maintaining the "stuff" can send stuff from the stash...that way one thread works as a running inventory...and the other is the actual PIF to someone on behalf of the group as a whole..

Your first statement as mod is to undo the entire foundation of the group.....what it's all about.....and someone says "hang on" and the above is the response????

This is a good idea as well, keep them coming people. We as a whole need to decide what direction to take the group, and what works best for everyone.

That was me....and sadly no...what the thread has become is not the original concept of PIF...it's become a swap...
as far as PIF on here...jenjen, clumsy, imreality,thelook, myself, jules...it started with threads like I have this and dont need it...tell me your story and why you do and it's yours...never actually having enough for it to actually go to everyone who was deserving of it...
how is I have 6ml of this and 6ml of that and 2 cartos I'll wait til something good comes along and take what those people are offering and put my stuff in.....how is that exactly PIF instead of a swap thread with a shiny feel good name to it?...how is it paying it forward?...how are you giving freely to someone truely in need without doing it to get something back?
as I said keep the thread but change it's name to reflect what it is... it's a good start...

I generally choose not to get involved in things like this. So I will make my one and only comment on this whole fiasco and go quietly.

In my opinion, PIF ran on the main board for quite a while as a simple trading thread.
It has evolved into much more now, perhaps too much.

I really dont think that co-ops belong here, they should be on a forum of their own.
I dont really think that co-ops fit the PIF format or idea, and they have caused disention.

PIF should be a place to help others, not a screened place with permission for entry or a little club of its own.

Blaze it was nice of you to step in to help, PIF does not really have to be all that much work , if it were just the simple trading thread and others to chat and help each other.
This is as it should be, but it is just my opinion, which doesnt count for much.

I'm starting to think this may be spot on dead right. In light of recent events, I think we should get back to just a "trading" thread/forum, so I think it's time to go to a vote from the community as to whether or not we continue to do co-ops. I'm in no way saying people can't run co-ops, but just not in PIF.
