Wow. It has been a long road. I started smoking at age 18. Almost 3 years ago I was ready to quit for good. My wife and I had just had our second child and I wanted to make sure that my health held up for a long time.
I remember hearing about e-cigs around this time. I work in the airline industry and there was a memo sent to us about how the company was not going to allow them on board the aircraft. I remember thinking to myself that it sounded like a great idea. Not that the company was not going to allow them on board, but that such a thing existed!

I had been smoke free for about 2 days when I ordered. I knew NOTHING about e-cigs. There were not that many places to even get them. I ordered a 901 starter kit off ebay and was on my way.

I will try to keep this as short as possible.

I made my way through various models and vendors. Various flavors and strengths. It was quite an experience and one that I truly enjoyed.

About a month ago I decided that I was going to give it all up. I started to develop what I can only describe as rosacea. I had red dry patches on my face. Every time I would shave my skin would just be very upset. I drink large amounts of water a day, and no matter what I tried, nothing helped. This had gone on for over a year and I had enough.
It does not run in my family. No one has ever had it that I am aware of.
I had never had it my whole life. Only after starting e-cigs.

Anyway, I got 3 bottles of the lowest Nicotine e juice I could find, and also a bottle of 0 nic juice.
After the 3 bottles were gone, I would then use the 0 nic while my body was ridding itself of the nicotine.
I figured it would help with the intense cravings I knew where going to slam me.
I remember what quitting cigarettes was like and I was not looking forward to it.

It was nothing like I remember.
There was almost nothing to it. I don't understand it.
Now do not get me wrong. There were/are cravings. But they are the type of cravings that a quitter usually has after a few months of being off cigarettes. I never once had that OMFG I am going to kill someone if I cannot have a cigarette. The biggest problem I had was wanting to reach for my ego, and not being able to. That even disappeared quickly.

It has been 4 weeks and I would say that after the first week, there is hardly any thought to what was once a big part of my life for many years. It may be because we are not getting rid of all the other chemicals that come along with a traditional cigarette. It may be because we are really not getting the same amount of nicotine that we think we are. But I will say one thing. It was by far, the easiest quitting experience I have ever had.

If you are considering quitting everything, give it a shot. It may just be a little easier than you think it is going to be.

Thank you e-cig forum for all the tips, tricks, reviews, and awesomeness that you have given to me. It made vaping so much more than just........Smoking! Jason

Oh.. Btw.. My skin cleared up within 2 days..

This is very good to know! I haven't given it a shot yet, but I know it's in my future. Problem with vaping is it's half a habit, and half a hobby. I'm surrounded by doodads with which I constantly tinker, and it's brought me great joy.

The possibility of me quitting has increased lately, mostly because I caught a cold a month ago and haven't been able to clear out the fluid from my lungs yet. I have a feeling vaping is preventing me from completely healing.

At any rate, thanks for the update and encouragement on how easy it is to quit. I'll join ya at some point down the road.

Wow congrats to you! That's incredible and I'm so happy to hear it was fairly easy :) I'm no doctor but rosacea is not a disease that can be cured (ever) :( I know I suffer from it. I'm wondering if you went to the DR to see what was happening, I know how disturbing something on your face can be. Regardless congrats on your quit and I'm happy your pretty again :)
