Been awhile, I know, but work and RL and all that... You know how it goes...

Ok, so I have had the eGo and been happily puffing away on it for a while, but I have noticed vapor production is going down all the time.

This is going to sound uber-noob, but...

When do you know you need to do something, and what is it that you need to do? I've been using the same atty/cartridge for a week or more now... I had the stuffing actually fall out of the cart and shoved it back in... I think it's stained and getting kind of nasty, and juice leaks out the sides now as well, and I find I am getting this crap on my lips, and that doesn't feel too great:p

I switched to a new cart/atty and it seems to be working better (no mess, etc). Is it just the cart? Do you need to replace the atty regularly too? How often are people replacing their hardware? Do I need to stock up on attys and carts?

On another note (mainly for Domino as she's nuts about this stuff), I got the atomic cinnacide (24mg/35% VG), and I vape this stuff religiously. It can get a bit overbearing, but when it seems a bit over the top, I add a few drops of the coconut nobacco juice, and it seems to calm it down a bit in a very nice way :D

I have four Janty attys for my eGo and routinely rotate them. I sometimes go too long on one atty and it gets a little flooded and produces less vapor. I just blow it out, set it upside down on tissue and moved to the next atty. Voila! The strong throat hit and vapor kick right up again.
I have a couple dozen Joye 510 attys on hand but, IMO, the Janty eGo atty is the best. Some will argue there is no difference and any Joye 510 atty works the same as the Janty. I strongly disagree. But that's just me.

If the atty is still kicking, then I would replace the cart, nothing like a new cart to help seal and add that fresh feel to the setup. If the cart seals ok I would recommend pulling the batting out and washing it and blot drying it every couple days. Like washing your socks, they work better when they are clean :) Carts wear down from repeat removal and instalation and evetually will fall out when they get real loose. I would ALWAYS have an extra atty OR TWO on hand and a handful of carts to replace when the others wear out.

Worse experiance I had was I had my ecig for 3 weeks went to Panama City and day two the atty died and I did not have a spare. Luckly my wife still had hers and we were able to share for 3 days until I could get a replacement.

That's good to know... Ya, I've been sticking to the same atty/cart for far too long I think. I have 1 more (somewhere?), so I'll have to dig it up and purchase a few of those Janty attys as well... I'll let you know if it's psychological or not :pervy:

That may not be a bad idea... It is actually starting to resemble a dirty sock at this point...

I think I'd die if I had to go 3 days, and there's no wife to bail me out. I also don't think my 6 year old daughter's going to be of much help in that department (at least I hope not), so I better get on my spares right away...

It may be that being a tattoo artist, I'm always cleaning stuff, But I have found proper cleaning, via spraybottle with 70% isopropyl alcohol (same thing I clean yer skin with) and proper dry time (an hour) and maybe a little blowing thru the atty, has rejuvenated several of my attys. A few are still working from day one.

That is good maintenance advice, but do you ever find you get an isopropyl aftertaste to your atty?

My turn for a stupid question... 70% isopropyl alcohol is just basic "rubbing alcohol" found in grocery stores right?

yea and pharmacies too. Alcohol cleans by the evaporation process, so it dries real quick without leaving residue behind. I usually blow it thru the atty from the battery side after I spray through, and let it dry. The isopropyl part is important. Ethyl alcohol is your basic rubbing stuff, usually fragranced and NOT good for an atty. On the good isopropyl side, less than 70 is gonna have enough water to rust your bridge, and more than 70 might be caustic enough to mess stuff up (electricals and such) but it's flammable, so let it dry completely. I wish I had the lecture my health inspector gave me on file, I would send it to ya.

Awesome. I will have to look into finding these two. Thank you :)
I'm not sure how I feel about the vodka. I would have a hard time not drinking that...
Works for stocking up on "party supplies" anyhow, so double bonus!

PGA is "supposedly" tasteless (although, I beg to differ), so that would be another plus to using PGA as well... Might evaporate rather quickly though.

This is an easy one.
:)

The atomizer starts to get built up crud on it over time.
And it will perform worse and worse as that crud builds up.

You just need to clean it with a dry burn, as described in the following thread...
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/69834-my-atty-resurrection-method.html

Your atomizer will work like new again.
Seriously.

Oh, and MAKE SURE to sign the petition linked in my signature!!!
At least if you don't want THEM to take your electronic cigarette from you.
