Last night my wife read me the riot act about the Prodigy she says "looking like a drug device" and she doesn't want out children seeing it. In addition my office is a mess with all the different e-smoking stuff.

I now have packages arriving all the time which she doesn't like.

Than on Wednesday because I'm not that big a fan of the High Volt Prodigy and I'm attracted by the Vapre 51 small size and it use of cigar batteries (I have plenty of those) I bought one from LitecigUSA

After last nights argument I was hoping that the device would arrive on Saturday for an interception or at least Monday to give a few days to let things die down a little.

Did a tracking today and sure enough it's out for delivery.

I'm definitely going to hear an earful!!
Do you think she'll buy the argument that the other one looked too much like a drug device so I bought a better looking unit?

My kids are cool with it they are educated. It's the wife who's the ignorant one.

They seem to get it that Daddy doesn't smoke those smelly cigarettes anymore and the lectures from them on how smoking will kill me (taught in school) have stopped.

They know the liquid Nicotine is a poison and are scared to even get it on there hands.

You are right she is very tightly wound and it's almost impossible to get into her thick head that I'm trying to save my life by quitting smoking.
Haven't had a cigarette since June

My kit does look like a drug device bc of the syringe I use and the bottle of juice (lol) my kids are also educated and happy that I no longer use analogs. Education is the key, at "any" age...gl :)

LOL yeah, seriously... throw in a box of pyramid tea bags and it all looks like some new supercool way of getting blitzed...

Well, technically it is a drug device. Nicotine is a drug and its a device to get nicotine in your system. Thus, drug device.

Not that I think drugs are bad, which is a problem most of society has, but come on, we do have to be honest with ourselves here.

When I say drug device, I'm only referring to illegal drugs. I wouldn't call a can of soda a drug device - even if most do deliver that sweet, sweet caffeine.

Well, there's the problem then. Ask her if what she really wants is for you to die a horrible death just so she can have your insurance money, because thats what she's telling you she wants.

I'm sorry, this is just me, but I personally could never put up with such an ignorant attitude at home, or even react calmly to the suggestion of "hiding it". I'd flip out.

Well, I know what Tom Leykis would say! J/K

Maybe your argument about the prodigy looking like a drug device, so you're getting this instead, might work. But maybe try and educate her, along with the kids at the same time. Make it a family affair.
If that doesn't work, just say, fine, then I'll guess I'll start smoking again. And ask her if that's what she wants. (Of course if she prefers you to smoke instead of vape, then I would think at the very least, marriage counseling is in order).

Maybe find someone who she respects. Perhaps, Mother in law, or father in law, maybe a best friend, or sibling. Someone you also get along with. Then get them on your side, and have them help you out.

Ouch! You have my condolences, my otherwise delightful husband is the same way. He is convinced that my little travel kit looks like a ...... junkie's "works", because of the little bottles and the syringe, and my PV itself looks like a "one hitter" (a little aluminum pipe used for smoking a pinch of marijuana).
Thankfully we don't have children for me to "corrupt", but he's been very concerned about me working in the garden with my PV stuck (as always) in my mouth. I think he's terrified that someone will call the cops.

I think a good heart to heart talk may be in order. Between the cost savings from vaping (yes, I realize there is not always one, but there CAN be one), and the lack of analog smoke being inhaled into your lungs, she should have a vested interest in both of these aspects, since she is your wife.

Perhaps you need to find out what the issues are with it. Just saying that it's a drug delivery device does not seperate it in that regard from a cigarette or nicotine gum.

Also, most of the consumable parts of e-cigs have fairly long shelf life, and you don't burn through it as quickly as you would a pack of ciggies, so less trips to the store, less packages in the mail (ok, yeah right :p) But you get my point, it's not as wasteful.

In my house, the boy was laughing about it at first, but now it's just a normal thing. He really likes the fact that it doesn't smell up the house, and that I'm no longer smoking. He does realize that it is a drug, and this just goes to show him how addictive nicotine is for me. This seems to be enough to curb his interest.

Once you throw a syringe into the mix, it definitely does look pretty suspicious......just like a druggie kit. I mean, basically it is, although for vaping. But it does have a syringe in it, and a bunch of small liquid containers . You have to admit, that just looks bad.

Don't get me wrong, I have a small syringe I use also. But when I open my own kit, I always think how sleazy that makes it look. :D

... it appears that your marriage has some issues. Unfortunately most do. But an openess to discussion and not beating partners up verbally is one key to working things out.

Try changing your attitude towards her. How do you think she would respond if she read this forum and read that you called her ignorant? Try always holding her in your minds eye as that beautiful bride standing beside you on the day you got married. We tend to forget the love as life starts getting in the way. The more she rides you and the more you hold fast to that image of your lovely bride, the less she will ride you. It works, man.

It's all in the delivery.
I started a program to reduce debt it's very straight forward and simple...when I first started my wife called me a "money nazi"

I looked at her and told her this..."Dear I'm not getting any younger and anything can happen at anytime...if I were to die tomorrow I don't want to leave you with a mountain of debt. I want you to have enough money to bury me and be able to live comfortable for the rest of your life and I would hope you feel the same way abut me."

The next day she was asking me what she had to do to get started with the program herself :D
