This sort of thing is actually a grave concern. Congress may directly ban non-tobacco flavored e-juice, even if the FDA does not. And the FDA, even if it loses its case, will likely have the power to bann flavors in juice under its tobacco regulatory powers.

If they've banned the flavors in cigarettes, at least there's an argument that statistics show most people do starting smoking before they are 18, whereas there is scant evidence of the use of other nicotine products by minors. However, once Congress starts banning the flavors in other nicotine products besides cigarettes, there is precedent for doing that to e-cigs, whether it is Congress or the FDA.

I'm not so much concerned about my own access to flavors. I suppose I could just order flavorless juice and get some Lorann's. It's more of a concern that it makes e-cigs a less attractive smoking alternative for loads of other people.

I've used unflavored nic e-liquid before (and seen where others have, too)...it's really not bad, slightly sweet. If that was the only thing available, I wouldn't have a problem with it....just sayin'

I'd probably make due with it as well, or else buy my own flavoring and add it in. However, judging from the amount of time people around here spend discussing/reviewing their liquids, I'd say the issue ranks as medium to high importance for many if not most vapors. Given that this is the case, I'd hate to see some people not be successful in staying away from analogs because they didn't enjoy their vaping enough. That in my view is the main point of e-cigs - that they help us not smoke.

The irony of all of this is that they are telling us that e-cigs are not proven effective as smoking cessation aids, so what do they do? They want to systemically neuter them to make them less effective as smoking cessation aids! I'll bet it goes like this: they regulate e-cigs to make them "less attractive to kids" and in doing so, end up making them less attractive to adults. THEN they do a large clinical trial on e-cigs, and determine that they are only slightly more effective, if at all, then the existing NRT's! Then of course they will have proven their own original point, by maniuplating the conditions ahead of time through their own regulations.
