I have an ego twist with a ProTank. The atomizer (i guess thats what you call it) is 2.4 ohms. Everything works just fine. So today I got a couple of tiny mAh 400 batterys. Should I replace the atomizer in my ProTank with 1.8 ohm to make it work with my tiny batteries?

The little batteries are fixed voltage, probably around 3.4V. This will vape at about 4.8 Watts with a 2.4 ohm coil. What voltage do you normally run the twists at?

You'll probably get a stronger, more flavorsome vape with a lower ohm coil. You may also find that your battery will not last as long though.

It's a bit of a trade-off. The more vapor and flavor, the more juice you will use and less battery life you will have.

I know which I prefer, order those 1.8's ;)

The lower resistance will give you a stronger vape on your batts. if thats what you want. but both should work.

Whats there voltage?

This.

You may be swapping batteries more often, but you'll get more vapor.

That is one of those personal choice things that drive newbies crazy. This is the chart I copied from the Internet to advise me where to start testing stuff at, going up and/or down to find my personal sweet spot.

what is the battery voltage output and amp limit?

THIS.

The amp limit on the little batteries is limited. They will wear out WAY faster if they are even rated to pull those amps at all.

In other words, you may be over-stressing the smaller batteries. Hard to say without a complete battery spec.

Otherwise, just note that lower ohms = less restriction = MORE electricity flowing.

* and an over-stressed battery is dangerous......

Heck, I'd even TRY a 2.0 ohm coil on a super-mini (like a 280 mAh) to see what it was like...for one puff or so...but I wouldn't use it as a "normal" coil. Those small batteries just aren't rated for the amps. The word "Tiny" in your post combined with the 400 mAh rating means......use standard ohms. Like the 2.3/2.5 ohm stuff.

So AttyPops are you saying that if i go with a 1.8 ohm atomizer I might wear my batteries out faster than if I stuck with 2.4? I know it will drain them faster thats why I got 2 of them. I use my twists around my house but I got the small batteries for work. I needed something small to carry in my shirt pocket without it falling out. My twists are 1000 mAh

Batteries that drain faster are more stressed. More stress = wear out faster. Also, more drain = more heat generated inside the battery.

Heat in battery = bad. If it gets bad enough = thermal runaway.

It all depends on the battery. Some batteries are rated for "high drain" ....like IMR batteries. They have different chemistry. Others are not. So you have to know what to use and do some math for the amps....and know what the manufacturer rates the battery for.

One general rule: smaller battery = handles less amps.

The chances of a battery getting hot enough to blow up just from taking a few puffs are fairly low unless you do something crazy like trying to draw more current than the battery is rated for. It's a hand-held device, after all. If you feel the battery getting hot, stop what you're doing and let it cool off. If it keeps getting hot, know that it's not going to last long. Excessive heat degrades the battery's ability to hold a charge, and that damage is permanent.

That's what we're trying to determine. Need specs.

It might work or it might not. Can't tell because you haven't told us what the heck the battery is!

And who takes an e-cig to work and only takes a couple of puffs? So yeah, you might be able to tell not to use it because it's hot (I hope you know that!) after a few puffs. Assuming the battery has no defects. But remember...the goal is to not overheat it.

What device did you say you were using it in?

Some 400 mAh batteries are rated for higher drain than others.

wouldn't worry about a battery blowing up at 1.8ohms. your kinda miss informing people with this whole blowing up stuff. lots of people use 1.5ohms and up on ego style batts. if you find a battery getting warm then its a warning sign. its not going to spontaneously com-bust lol. no idea why people try and scare others. hes not using sub ohms coils.
