Hi and welcome. Do you have a coil build installed in the Hatty when you try to read ohms? Also, look on the bottom of the Hatty and you will find a screw in the center. Try turning the screw counterclockwise just a smidge to ensure it comes in contact with the center post/pin on the reader ... if it doesn't already. Check to make sure your coil build isn't in contact with either post except just by the attaching coil legs ... or you may read a short circuit.

What ohm reader? Does it have a spring loaded 510? Many of them are flaky and cheap. If the mod can read the correct ohm and display it. It should be alright to use.

Not wise if using unregulated devices but you seem to be using a regulated mod, many people just use a mod as an ohm check for the build.

i am using a reader from fasttech $4.70 2-in-1 Combo Tester (Ohm Meter + Volt Meter) for E-Cigarettes - 0.01-9.99ohm / 0.01-9.99V / 2*AA / black at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping It probably is bad but it reads my Baby beast tank perfectly fine. but why would it be inwise to use a unregulated mod because i am using one and i dont want to spend alot of money on a new mod ,but if it will blow up or something like that i will get one
I'm out of ideas. Hopefully others come along soon to help. If you could post a good pic of the build deck with coil installed ... and your ohm reader, that might help.

EDIT: ^^^ good suggestion to use your REGULATED mod to check ohms. Don't try with a mechanical/unregulated mod.

You are using a regulated mod if it can read the ohms of the coil. It is protected. It will not fire if the coil is too low to fire.

A mechanical mod is a different device that is straight off battery without a regulating circuit board. It would be unwise to use a coil of unknown ohms on such a mod as it would be dangerous.

So if i can somehow get my ohm reader to work on my rda then it should be safe to use on my unregulated mod but if it cant i should just buy a new mod?

You said your mod could read the ohms.....you have a regulated mod then. Mechanical mods can not read the ohms of a coil
