That's because it costs more to rent a shop than to rent web space.

Overhead.

However you get to examine the product yourself and usually can return it if it shorts an have a new one in a matter of hours.

I love fast tech too, but there are huge advantages to purchasing locally, especially if you get a lemon.
As you now know first hand.
