I got a provari mini ive been using for a week now. I have it set at 4.7 volts. It just occurred to me that i should ask you all about ohms. When i check it on the provari it says 1.7. Is this what it should be at? And if not how do i change it? I read somewhere (not here) that you should be at at least 2.8 in ohms if the voltage is set that high. Advice?

If you are then your setting is fine.

Yes. This !

Quick math: 4.7 x 4.7 / 1.7 = 12 watts
Not unreasonable, I'm running 4.4v on 1.8 ohm right now on my ProVari.

If you go too high it can give you 'dry' hits and your throat may feel scratchy.
Some juices definitely like higher or lower settings, just find the one you like best.

1.7 ohms is a little low for a Provari. For best performance, Provape recommends using a resistance of 2.0 - 3.0 ohms on the Provari. When purchasing cartomizers or coil heads for your next juice attachment, order in that resistance.

A simple rule to follow is the Ohms Plus 2 Formula. Take the ohms of the coil, add the number "2", and the sum will be the voltage range to use. Adjust + or - as desired. For example: 2.0 ohms plus 2 = 4 volts. 3.0 ohms + 2 = 5 volts.

I dont know if its the kind of juice i have or what but it seems like theres not enough flavor. I didnt want to mess with the settings too much because i dont really know what im doing ha ha! Thats why i ask everyone here.

The perks of using variable voltage is the ability to adjust the voltage to the flavor that you are using. Not all flavors taste their best at one fixed voltage. Experiement a little to see if a higher or lower voltage improves the flavor.

Flavor can also be affected by the wick material used and the juice itself. Silica is not as good a flavor carrier as cotton or polyfill.

What are you using on the ProVari and how is it wicked ?
Airflow is key too depending on the ratio (hence thickness).

I hated a couple juices in the Russian on silica with a standard coil.
Now I'm running a micro coil built with 28ga Kanthal and cotton and holy cow are they good.

Ha! There's something else I didnt know! So the resistance depends on what your coil heads are? Im sure thats something i should know but ive only been vaping for a week!

You can think of your Provari like a Dimmer Switch on a Lamp.

If you turn the Dimmer Switch Up (More Volts) you get More Light. If you turn the Dimmer Switch Down (Less Volts) you get Less Light.

The light bulb Isn't changing. The Amount of Volts you are giving it is.

Setting your Proavari to more Volts will give you More Vapor and Theoretically More Flavor. But there is a Limit. If you set the Volts Too High, than the hit you get Just Tastes Burnt. Like when you leave something on the Stove Too Long and whatever is in the Pan Boils down to a Burnt Goo.

The 1st Rule of Variable Voltage (VV) is to set the Device at a Low Setting (maybe 3.5 Volts) and the Slowly work you way Up a Little at a Time. When you find what Tastes the Best for you, Stop going Higher.

Yes If YOU Have A Rba you can rebuild it using several kinds of wicking materials. Such as silica, ekowool, stainless steel mesh, and cotton. You would need to expirement to find your personal favorite material. Also their are many types of coils you can build but I would start with a basic coil or micro coil. It takes some experiment to see which you personally perfer. Hope this helps and best wishes

Hopefully its just the juice I'm using is not great and that's why I'm getting the lack of flavor. I can barely taste it. I bought it at a smoker supply store where......well they just seemed like the type of people that would rip ya off. For instance....the guy working there wanted to know what I was using, showed him the provari and he asked if he could try it. I let him. He says "wow" and then immediately tells me he sells the exact same thing for only $70. I said "really?! Let me see!". He shows me a vamo (NOT the EXACT same thing). And he says online it sells for $130 but he only sells it for $70. So yeah, dudes a turd. I mean the juice bottle says made in usa but it doesn't break down the pg or vg, the ingredients just say pg, weird. Anyway, can't wait to try the new juice.

this makes sense to me but then what about the other setting for wattage?
