Bombeni, you should be able to get all your tanks working again if you want to. DavidOck gives good advice above. Sometimes there can be problems, but it doesn't mean you have to toss the whole thing, and buy tank after tank. If you could give a little more detail than the tank is fried or works half-assed, it might be easier to help you figure out what's going wrong. You should definitely not be seeing them "blaze fire"! Not sure what's going on with that.

If a tank works on one battery and not another, it's usually a sign that the centre post in the battery got pushed down too far. That can happen from over-tightening the tank, especially if one tank, or your charger, is a bit longer than another. Try what David says to (gently!) adjust the battery post.

After that, as he says, the coils in the tanks are replaceable. Just pop a new one in and you should be good to go. It could be that 20 watts is too much for those tanks, but I never go above 10, so maybe someone else can comment on that.

Most of them are iclears. The first time one glowed fire my son saw it and said hey those are cool they light up! I've seen two others light up/fry since then. at same time there's a horrible stench taste. I'd be afraid to use another one. One time the top of the 20 watt got real hot I figured it got damaged. I've been running it around 10 watts, both of them.

The only time I've ever had "flame" from a coil is when over-zealously dry burning. Sometimes the gunk will flare. Are you sure the wicks were thoroughly wet with juice?

And it is possible that your iStick 20 itself is defective, and putting out full power regardless of the setting. While rare, it could happen.

I'm sure there was liquid in them. It has happened w the 20 watt and the 11 watt.

An iStick 20 does not have "step down", so ambient battery voltage is as low as it can be set.
The solution is to have enough resistance to get the wattage you want. So you would want at least a 1.8 ohm coil to insure that it will adjust down to 11 watts.

    Indeed, they all need maintenance.

Toppers need periodic cleaning, coil replacement / rebuild.

Batteries, obviously need charging, but cleaning of the contacts is also a good habit. (I swab the 510 pins on mine, no matter the type of battery or mod, every time I change toppers with a Q-tip.) On replaceable battery mods the threads need occasional cleaning as well to maintain good contact throughout.

But once you learn to NOT tighten toppers down, lifting the pin should become a rare, if ever, need. Toppers need only be snug, not tight.

Glad the pin lift helped on your 20! :toast:

    Or some other type :)

Some love the Iclear30, some don't. Just like all toppers.

That's one of the great things about vaping - we don't all have to use the same gear. Of course that can also be said to be one of the bad things about vaping - with such a wide variety of options it can be hard to find what you really like, without breaking the bank!

But once you get a setup that you like, and that keeps you vaping, not smoking, you can take your time, read a lot, ask lots of questions, and then make choices on hardware that fits your style and needs. Whatever that is, if it keeps you a non-smoker, it's "right" for you!
