I started out trying to vape like I smoked, every 20 minutes or so for 10-12 drags. But I think like most people, unbounded by "I lit this, I don't want to waste this", I started vaping more often and for a lot fewer drags. So - I now vape every 5 to 15 min and for 1-6 drags depending on how long it's been since I vaped last? Except in the morning - when I first get up I vape at least a couple of cigs worth of drags, but smaller drags.

I normally have no willpower, but I went into vaping determined not to escalate my need for nicotine or TH. So I don't let myself vape all the time. At home I leave the ecigs in another room. AT work they are on my desk but I make sure they are spending more time on the desk than in my mouth.

Hi Kev, I'm vaping with 24mg i know i don't need more than this because at this level after 3 or 4 chuggs i'm soothed. I find i need to do this every half hour.

Interestingly, in my case, i'm breaking off from taking a full chugg now because the throat hit is too strong. I will stick with 24mg though as it's reassuring to know that theres a bit more there should i need it.

It seemed for the first two weeks my vaping was totally random. I was all over the place. Getting headaches and a sore throat. Then as i turned into my third week i seemed to just slip into a groove that i'm in now.

I feel less dependant on it now. Though i must either have it near me or at least know where it is. It's settling down for me. It's less desperate than when i started up.

I think it'll settle down for you too Kev. It's still early days for you yet. But i'll bet by the time you reach your third week you'll be a lot more settled in to a rythym.

Keep it up mate. I'm rooting for ya.

Here's what I got. I like the menthol, but it doesn't seem to vape as well as the backo. I smoke marlboro menthols. When I smoke a cigarette, I feel at ease when I'm done. The most I've vaped is like 3-4 hits, so I'm still smoking analogs. I wish the ....... I could get off them completely. I just wonder if I'm just not doing enough. I should have ordered the high strength full flavor menthol.

Backwoods Brew 555 Tobacco (Size: 10Ml (= $6.50)

This is an interesting thread...
I vape constantly. I love the idea of having a delirious flavor in my mouth all the time so, I'm sucking on my PV, like, 24/7. I love it! I rarely put it down. It's hanging out of my mouth right now while I'm typing this post.
I'm tellin' ya, these things are the greatest inventions since the model T Ford!!!
I own a M401 so it's small just like an analog. It produces just enough vapor like a real cigarette to satisfy my habit. I go thru 10 maybe 12 carts or so a day. Each cart holds about 9 drops and I got 13 of them that I e-smoke all day long.
I'm retired so there usually isn't anything that gets me out of the house anymore except the grocery store and I e-puff all the way to and from the store.
I love it!!! (Oh did I say that already? LOL )

The guy who invented these things should get a medal....

Hey Kev, I hope you don't mind me keep posting on your thread here. And i'm not like telling you what to do. I'm just trying to help with some suggestions. I am still pretty new to this myself. I may just be a couple of weeks in front of you - Quit wise.

Maybe you need some 36mg. I mean.....to quit the analogs you need to be getting enough nicotine to satisfy/calm the cravings. 24mg does it for me. Vape it till you feel cool. If it takes 10 chuggs then that is what it takes.

Getting enough nicotine is what it is all about in the early days. Long slow draws. When you're getting what you want from vaping then you wont be thinking so much about analogs. Let it work for you. Relax into it. It's gonna help you. Let yourself believe that.

hey grinre ...I'm with you on the medal .....Hon Lik invented the first e cig (i think)
I play and record music. My vocal power has returned to what it was 20 years ago (3 weeks of not smoking). I have so much more breath and lung power.

I feel you're anxious to make this work for you. That may be getting in your way (your anxiety). You must relax and vape. Enjoy it.
You been smoking analogs for a long time. I'll bet you been toking harder and harder on them too.
There is no rush. No panic. Give yourself time. You CAN do this.

I smoke marlboro menthols.
How many of those did you smoke per day before you started vaping?

When I smoke a cigarette, I feel at ease when I'm done. The most I've vaped is like 3-4 hits, so I'm still smoking analogs.
Some of the most common advice I've seen is to keep on taking drags until the craving for a cigarette goes away.
Any particular reason why are you only taking 3-4 hits at a time?

Have no "rules" for vaping. Through trial and error, I found that I am quite satisfied with about 6-10 mg juice in the morning and puff on the ecig from time to time. one puff, put a few dishes away, an other puff, wake up the kids, an other puff...etc. At work, where my vaping is not as frequent, I need some 18 mg with lots of puffing before going back to a couple of hours away from my ecig. In the evening, I tend to puff at regular intervals and will be at 18 mg or higher.

Here is the kicker: I have monitored my juice consumption / nic concentration and am hovering at about the same nicotine level I was consuming daily as a smoker.

The only odd thing I have noticed is that a given flavor will be perfectly satisfying for a few days, then it will do nothing for me, and I need to switch to another flavor to get the same level of satisfaction. After a few days, the same phenomenon occurs, and I need to change again (or get back to the previous flavor).
