OK, I did a search on the site for this and didn't get anything relevant to come up.

I tried the Ask The Veterans Forum, but although the tag on my Avatar says "Full Member", there was something else about 70 posts, which I had not made yet. So I guess I'm really a "Fool Member" and not a "Full Member" yet. And I know what it says about how the post disappears, but it doesn't show up under my own profile's posts either, so I don't know if it is in queue, or didn't go thru.

Anyway, one of my favorite things besides when the dog bites and when the bee stings is, or rather, was, smoking a cigarette in the cold and having it warm you up. Now I know I won't get that from vaping, but, ...

Distilled tl;dr - Are there any special considerations I should know about vaping in the cold, and, or, special considerations for vaping equipment in the cold?

All I can say about that is, be careful in the car! For me, vapor tends to condense on the windows in a very... interesting film, and it's only noticeable when the temperature drops.

It can easily be cleaned off, but without chemicals like Windex it likes to smear around.

Nothing like firing up the old car in the morning, only to realize you can't see a thing.

Thanks!

Likely, I have to clean off the cigarette tar before I develop this problem.

In extreme cold... below freezing or worse below 0... you'll want to keep your battery and tank stored in a pocket inside your jacket so your body heat will keep things warm.

Batteries tend to perform below normal in the cold and your juice will get considerably thicker and not wick as efficiently in the cold.

I wouldn't expect much warming benefit unless you chain vape and get your atty heated up...

I'm not sure if others have this experience or not, but I just don't seem to get a satisfying vape when I'm outdoors. Especially if it's windy or dry (not humid). The vapor just doesn't seem as thick and rich, and doesn't fill my lungs up in a satisfying way.

This summer I took a 12 hour flight overseas, and snuck a few times in the bathroom to vape. I noticed the same thing on the plane about the vapor... actually, there was almost no vapor upon exhale. What little there was, it dissapated immediatley (not necessarily a bad thing in an airplane bathroom). I'm guessing it's the dry air at altitude??

P.S. I do not vape on shorter flights.. but this 12 hour flight was way too long to last without a vape. Back when I smoked it seemed easier to get through a flight, but with vaping it seems that I need to take a hit more often.

When you leave a question in the Ask the vets section, it will disappear and only be visible to vets, until it's has been answered and moved to the ask the vets answers section, you just need to be patient trust me, its in there with some good answers and should show up for your viewing pleasure soon.

I just thought it would still show up in my own posts if it had "taken" as a question. Because there was that 70 post requirement mentioned, and "full Member" requirement mentioned, I wasn't sure if I was eligible to ask a question or not. Because above my avatar it saya "full member" but I didn't have the requisite 70.

If you run higher vg that could be a little of a problem only because it is thicker. Depends on your juice tank and battery tho.

Running ~25PG/75VG in a Kanger Mini Protank 3 on a Vision Spinner II, and the same fluid in a Kanger Aerotank Mini on an Itazte VV. Whatcha think?

Well living in Pittsburgh you should be ok. Like it has been said keep it close to your body and never leave it in your car. Might have to crank up the watts a bit.

This! Be careful with your batteries in the cold! I haven't yet had to vape in the cold (just started) but can say that it has a definite effect on batteries. I snowboard often and am always very careful about where I put my phone. If my phone gets too cold, the battery level can drop from about 75% to 1% in less than an hour. No joke. So don't get yourself stranded without a paddle, er, battery I mean.

At worst il just have my tip stuck on for awhile, free straw for hot chocolate/coffee then :p

I bought a cheap tank EcTO BDC T9 just to put the 100% VG 6mg Vanilla Caramel Tobacco flavor I'll be having with my morning coffee, while my other 2 tanks have Kanger Aero tank mini has 15mg 25%PG/75%VG tobacco flavors (1/2 18 mg 50/50 Mister eliquid Casino 21, and 1/2 12mg 100% VG Red Cowboy)
In my other tank, a Kanger Protank 3 mini has the same flavor with less nic, a 3mg 25%PG/75%VG tobacco flavors (1/2 6mg 50/50 Mister eliquid Casino 21, and 1/2 0mg 100% VG Red Cowboy)
