Hello - I drip with a LR306 and a Cannnon drip tip. I have one that leaks, but it's my fault. I pushed the Cannon down onto the atty too hard and caused some minute damage. When I drip, a little leaks down from where they fit together. It isn't very much, I just wipe it off every other drag or so. I'm thinking of embroidering a tea-towel just for that purpose, to add to the ritual. Must smile...must stay focused...mustn't play with matches...

I drip exclusively at home. I've found that

SmokTech Bridgeless Atomizer - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes

that specific atomizer tastes best and holds juice better than the other two I have tried, both standard $5-$7 bridgeless atomizers. It's easy to use and doesn't leak as long as you DON'T overfill it, though you should use a drip shield. Also, I leave my PV "sitting up" on my desk and don't carry it around while in "dripping mode."

Depending on your device, you may need a different size shield. I use an "ego" sized shield on my devices, but all my devices are "ego" threaded.

I wouldn't start out with a rebuildable dripping atty and I've never used a 306. I get good flavor from the bridgeless 510s.

The reason I like the atomizers I linked above is that they have a tiny bit of fluff/wicking in the center and it keeps the coils wetter than the other two brands I've tried.

PS. I have six dripping attys, two from the one linked above, and four from two other vendors. I have not "popped" or ruined a single one in the month+ I've been dripping. This is 4-6 hours of dripping and chain vaping in front of the computer daily. Also, one of the ones got repurposed to my REO and so I'm using THAT (not chain vaping) for 8+ hours daily while at work. Little champions. Now that I've bragged on my attys though, one will pop tonight, bet ya a dollar.
Also, I use the ones I linked (I call them my black ones, the other four are silver) probably 2x as often as the others. Really, they work well for me.

I clean them about once a week by soaking them in everclear and then letting them air dry.

I was actually looking at that one. I order my juice from there so was thinking about killing 2 birds one stone. I have a kgo battery. What shield do you have as I assume it would fit mine as well.

I am surprised so many people would suggest a RBA to a person just starting out and doesn't even know what dripping is. geesh guys :0

as a few others have already stated, I would definitely suggest getting a low resistance 510 or 306 atomizer if your just starting out with dripping. I only get my attys from Ikenvape.com. the ikv 510 1.5ohm xlr atty is amazing and only 8 bucks. his 306s are great too. I also would strongly recommend checking out the Fusion cartomizers from ikv as well. best cartomizers ive ever vaped, but there are usually sold out. his attys are always in stock tho for the most part.

I ordered one from Empiremods - this one - Empire eGo Drip Shields

and one from smartvapes... uh... eGo Drip Shield 510/306/901 ... the one at smartvapes is WAY CHEAPER and is working fine for me.

:)

PS. the salted caramel is delicious ;) I just got mine last night, and if you like sweet vapes. It's REALLY an interesting flavor.

Semi-noob question, but the 306s with the exposed bridges... what kind of setup does that require? I seriously... have only dripped on 510s. And I <3 dripping (because I change juice 3-4 times a day) and... sigh. I haven't ordered a 306 because the exposed bridge intimidates me and I'm not sure how dripping on one works... precisely.

(besides, all my dripping attys are debridged? THE 306 IS SO TINY!)

I think I'm the only one who mentioned an RBA dripper, but started my advice with
before jumping into a rebuildable, I would pick up a few 306 attys for dripping.

Ok noobier question lol. You like changing flavors you are the person to ask. That is why I am getting into the dripping. What is the process for doing this? Clean, new juice, clean new juice?

well. it depends. last night for example, I had a fresh order from MBV. I started with salted caramel on a clean atty. After about two hours (like I said, it's tasty) I tried the caramel apple on the same atty. No cleaning. Just don't judge the flavor for a few rounds of dripping. Sometimes it's a little "weird" to mix - sometimes better than either - sometimes worse than either. I had a salty caramel apple for a while. It was kinda good, but I won't be mixing the bottles or anything.

Rule of thumb; if you think it'll taste ok in the middle, swap flavors without a care. Sometimes you discover a new flavor "in the middle" that is AWESOME. For example, Voodoo Cola (LJ's Esmokes) and Bourbon St. Vanilla (Happy Esmoker) make an AWESOME vanilla coke flavor. I found this out while swapping flavors dripping.

However, if you have, say, Pluid (never tried it) and want to vape... um... .... .... lemon menthol... I'd clean it between. However... worst thing that can happen is you discover a FOUL flavor, waste three drops of juice, and have to soak your atty for 15 minutes. ;) Which is why I have at least one clean atty at all times.

(I'm crazy, I know, and this doesn't work for everyone. You might prefer a clean atty for each different juice. I'm from the dirty south, where the suicide (beverage) was invented.)

I'm also considering buying another mod so I can have two different flavors going at the same time.

ALSO. I have designated atomizers for certain juices. As in, stuff that doesn't play well with others (Fuzion juices for example, warrant dedicated, clean atomizers..)... also I use Extreme Ice as a "buffer" between some juices, depending. Like, with mt baker (easy cause I assume you're familiar with his flavors) - Lightning - Lightning - Lightning - Extreme Ice - Extreme Ice - Thug Juice - Thug Juice - Thug Juice

... assume three drops per "refill" - and I love menthol so.

You can get them either way. I got my first gear based on the recommendations of a woman whose videos I liked on youtube. Although the price could have been better, and the kit was actually a bit outdated at the time, everything she suggested was wonderful.

Part of what she suggested was a debridged LR306 from the vendor she recommended for juice. I hadn't found ECF yet, and wasn't sure what debridged meant, so I got regular and debridged. The first time a grabbed one to try, it was a debridged and when I fired it I freaked! LR306s are quite short and without a bridge you're looking right into the coil. I couldn't imagine putting my mouth anywhere near it. The attys had come with drip tips (some long, some short), but not nearly long enough.

There is a vape store in town - not great, but it exists - and I took the atty in so they could explain it to me. It was apparently fate that caused me to grab a debridged one, because I wasn't afraid of the others. They suggested I go to Cherry Vape and get a Cannon drip tip (at least they are honest about having useless inventory), which has turned out to be fab.

Long story long, I never got back to trying the debridged, but maybe I will this week, I have a lot of new flavors to try. I got my 306s from Vixen Vapor (who will debridge them for you) and the Cannon from Cherry Vape. You can get both, unbranded, for less at Copper Creek. Personally, if I'm just given something a try I don't mind getting an inexpensive clone. I can usually tell if I don't like a device or if I don't like that device, but would like it if it was made better.

I soak them in everclear for between 15 minutes and ... well... I've forgotten to take them out for a full day and had to resoak because the alcohol evaporated lol. Then I just let them air dry (an hour or more, sometimes I cheat and wipe one off and blow it out real good after about 5 minutes if I'm out of clean attys).

It's ALL about personal preference though. My way is awesome for me, but you might ... want to do something else. Like... OH I KNOW

SOME PEOPLE. (WyattDerp, one of our hosts) uses plain PG to clean his attys! He drips some unflavored PG into the atty, then blows it out, and then burns some more unflavored PG, blows it out, then he's ready to roll a new flavor!

Sounds faster than my method. But I have no unflavored PG yet!

Thank you! I will pick up a 306 next time I'm buying... vape stuff... so like ... tomorrow probably lol. And I need an excuse to give Cherry Vape all my money, their tips are by far my favorites for dripping (their alum tips have the biggest holes). The shortness makes me nervous but I suppose with the right tip, it's less... scary...

I am lazy. I drip flavors I think might go together one on top of the other (I call it "stacking"). If you drip the new flavor long enough, the old one will go away. I use more than one atty at a time when I'm dripping (I also use the 510s that came with my original kit), so I do have some variety without stacking. If I really want to start over, I blow out the atty (through the thread end), rinse it under the sink, blow it out again and get back to dripping.

When I "really" clean my attys, I boil a cup of water in the microwave and throw them in to soak. When I remember to check on them, I smell them and if I can smell too much of a flavor, I will repeat the boil/soak; otherwise, I just put them on a paper towel to dry. I recently got a bottle of Flavor Eraser and was surprised that it actually worked, but I didn't try it with any super strong juices. And if you try it make sure it is all rinsed out before you vape, the stuff tastes horrid!

You DEFINITELY need a drip tip.

I didn't use a shield for a long time. You'll get some leakage if you overfill, but I am used to having a roll of paper towels. It is RECOMMENDED that you always use a drip shield, by people other than me. I always use one now, but only because it looks sexy with my PV. See?

I don't use water to clean anything other than my shield/tips. The water in my town is HORRIBLE and I worry that mineral deposits or chlorine will be left on the atomizers or clearo tanks (I use clearos as my backup-backup). If I had better water, or a filter, I'd do the same thing though. Some people use distilled water, too!

That IS awesome. Ok so the link yo gave me to the shield, it says I might need a shorty connector. Would I need that with a KGO? And the shield just slips over that atomizer from MBV and then I stick the drip tip on top of it all? Any certain tips needed? Thanks for all the help, I know i am a total noob to the dripping scene.

Did I mention that I'm lazy? Ultimately, since I'm not buying attys like an HH .357, I consider attys disposable. I'm not very nice to them, but, perhaps due to the fear of being replaced, they continue to work. I have a couple that are over 6 months old, although I only drip about one day a week.

I am unfamiliar with the KGO. ... So you might need a different shield altogether. Someone else can probably answer that. Also, if you shoot Alan with Smartvapes a message, he will be able to tell you what you need -ANY vendor worth buying from will answer that kind of question for you.

As for drip tips, if you get that 510 atomizer from mt baker, you'll need a drip tip that fits 510 atomizers.

if you get a 306, you'll need a drip tip for 306 atomizers.

Cheat sheet:

Drip Shield depends on BOTH atomizer and the PV you will be using.

Drip Tip depends JUST on the atomizer (afaik).
