Kitty,
I can't imagine how awful this must be for you....at least for me, with ra, mine is now minimal to yours, but loads of sleepness night, with left hip hurting no matter what you do or position you are in, walking, standing, sitting, laying down,,,,just can't get away from it. I do have a question tho.
I thought rsd affected nerves and muscles due to atrophy, I
was'nt aware that skelton strucure deterioration was also involved.
I gotta tell you that the Mayo clinic is top notch...Unfortunely, tho, my nephew died there....but due to his illness, not being a guinea pig. They have the absolute latest in technology and the staff are so kind and caring. Go ya in my prayers, girl...
Good luck and keep us posted.

OTHER POSSIBLE SYMPTOMS OF CRPS/RSDS

Allodynia --- This is part of the Fourth Main Symptom and includes hypersensitivity to touch, sound, vibration, wind, movement, temperature (especially cold), barometric pressure changes (especially drops), etc.
Movement Disorders --- difficulty in beginning movement of the injured part or moving it in general.
Increased Tone --- Muscle and skin tightness
Increased Reflexes --- Tremors of the extremity and muscle spasms
General Weakness --- Increased body fatigue, fever, rashes, sores, swelling also possible
Color/Skin Changes --- Skin may turn shiny, red, dry and tightened; increased sweating, temperature.
Nails/Hair --- On affected extremity they may grow at an increased rate, nails become grooved brittle.
Bone Changes --- Softening of the bones, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, joint stiffness/tenderness.
Sleep Patterns --- Insomnia is often seen, also disrupted sleep pattern. Some medications help this.
Miscellaneous --- Dizziness, Tinnitus, agitation, irritability, visual disturbances such as blurriness, dry eyes and others. Also, sounds/vibrations even strong winds can exacerbate the pain as well.

I had two different RSD specialists tell me that my bones were deforming from the RSD (I do physical therapy exercises as often as I can stand it and I walk and stretch as much as I can as often as I can (I have been told that this is the reason I am not in a wheelchair already) Just looking at my leg you can see how gross it is (Bones curving and a large bony ,... on the outer side of my L knee etc plus my toe is curled up now too)
I know its Softening of the bones, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, its just hyper accelerated for me or so it seems I have seen worse cases.

Oh and I have had Amenorrhea for 6 months or so.

Unfortunately I am very budget limited (hubby gives me $75 a week for food, cigs, meds, house supplies (anything the house needs ie cleaners, toilet paper, toothpaste etc) so extra meds or drs appointments for menses problems or any other problems for that matter are out of the question lol

I feel so lucky that my hubby is usually understanding. He takes on way more than his share of the household chores without too much nagging :). The house is always a wreck since I feel guilty asking him to do more after he's been at work all day, but to make myself feel better I watch Hoarders and tell myself at least it's not that bad. I have 2 close friends who also have Fibro so we can vent to each other about things no one else understands. It sucks that they're sick too, but it's so nice to have someone who just gets what I'm going through. Finding like minds here helps too :).

It's funny that with all the pain and weirdness my body goes through, the most frustrating thing is when I lose words. It makes you feel so stupid when you have to say "the thing we sit on to watch TV, you know the long thing with 3 cushions on it" because you totally forgot the word "sofa".
