to ordering a provari mini, but i can't find the answer to this:
is there anything subsantially different from both models (standard vs. mini) besides the size?
Can someone inform me of the length of time one can operate a Provari with a 18650 and a 18500 if one is working it full time (maybe not chain-vaping, but close)?
The standard can still house the 18650, whereas the mini cannot - so that is probably the only thing that would change my mind. I mean, are we talkin' a difference of minutes or hours?
Thanks

Yeah - the 18500 is rated at 1100 mAh while the 18650 is rated at 2000 mAh...so say My sweet spot was 5 V with a 2.5 ohm atty for a current draw of 2 A. Am I right in thinking I can take a 1 hour 6 minute continuous drag with the 18500 and a 2 hour long drag with the 18650. Not that I can :vapor:, but I can extrapolate from there. If someone can verify this for me, I'm going with the standard...

There's no difference between the v2 models other than size, battery options, and external design.

I would say you got it right. If you need vape time, go with the standard and the 18650. If later you want a backup and the smaller size mini would fit the bill for the quick 4 hr trip, and you want it to be smaller, then consider the mini then. I don't have my own vape times yet on the other batteries, but I expect the following from mine (get them today):

Consumption is about 1.5 - 2 ml a day.

18650 lasts me almost 20 hrs. I expect the 18490 to last me about half that, and the 18350 to last me about a 1/4 of that. I'm using a 3.0 sc boge on a tank. If I use my 1.8 ohm atty, my vape times are cut considerably. Most users probably will get less time as I'm a rather light vaper it seems.

Edit: I've switched to 18mg from 24 today, and I'm noticing that I'm chain vaping now. My juice consumption seems to be climbing to a much higher rate. I've already gone through 1.5 ml in just the last 5hrs. Later today I'll get my other two PVs with the other size batteries. I'll report back later when I drain each battery with what my experience was. It will be based on ml consumed and not so much as time the battery lasted -- have a feeling I'll be rotating between the three all day. You should be able to translate that better using your own consumption rate.

Good information, Envithyx. That is a HUGE difference in longevity. I figure I would probably get 10 hrs. of heavy use from the 18650, 5 from the 18500 which seals the deal for the standard. I am new, but already growing weary of the battery thing. This is an important piece of the puzzle to me. Good luck with your decrease in nic concentration. I made the mistake of starting with 12 mg/ml and literally had my 808's between my lips all day long in a state of panic.

I should clarify that I have no experience directly with the other two batteries yet and that it is just my estimates. I guess that the 18350 could last me 1/3 of what I get on the 18650, but I rounded down and will be happy if I see it last longer.

One thing I will reference that pbusardo got 15hrs of use on the 18490s. Not sure his consumption rate. So I may be surprised and find I get alot more use out of the other two sizes. Although BluSwatch already reported only getting 3 hrs off the 18350 using a mini with a 1.7 ohm at 3.7v.

Oh and thanks for the wishes on the nic reduction. I have a ton of 24 still laying around to use when I find the 18 doesn't cut it. I decided that I wanted to vape more but 24 was too much at that rate, so figured 18 would let me enjoy the devices longer without having to worry so much about too much nic. :D

Just pulled the trigger on the sliver satin standard V2 w/end cap extension, 2 18650's, an AC charger, and a car charger. Now for the setup...Hmmmm - so many options.....

I know you will be very happy with the results of your research. :) Good luck with the setup, it was actually more effort to figure that bit out for myself, but made for an awesome journey which really hasn't ended. :D

Just to throw in my .02 for future readers-

I have the v2, the wife has the mini. The 18350 last her from morning (545) until about midnight. She goes through about 2.5-3 mL a day.

I, however, bust through about 4-4.5 mL a day on my 18490. I can successfully go a day and a half without a blinking light. Matter of fact, I am yet to get a blinking light (just due to worry that it'll die at work after a day and a half)

We're both running 5v and 5.5 in the evening aw imr batteries.

These may just be crazy good results, so your mileage may vary, but I did want to post that battery life is pretty awesome on both.

Now, one more thing to consider (If you haven't ordered yet) the v2 sits in my hand perfect. The mini sits in her hand perfect. The mini feels small in my hand, and she thinks the v2 with or without the extension feels too big/heavy. To be unbiased I let her use mine before I surprised her with the mini and she was worried it was too big even before I showed her the smaller one

Edit- typo

Battery life is going to depend a lot on your cart/atty resistance, the power setting you use, and how often you vape.

I've been using SR Boge cartos (~3.2 ohm) at 4.7 volts, and I go through about 7ml per day. I get just under a full day. IOW, if I change the battery first thing in the morning, I wind up with a flashing light just before I go to bed. If I used different cartos, or a different voltage, or vaped more or less, I'd get a different amount of time.

Use others' times as a rough guideline, but don't expect to get exactly the same as anyone else, because your vaping preferences will likely be different.

Edited to add: I'm using the 2000mah extended (18650) batteries.

Just to add a little closure to this thread, I did receive my standard V2 and have been using it for about 10 days non-stop. I did a test yesterday to get actual numbers on battery charge. I only ordered two 2000 mah 18650 batteries with the standard Provari w/ extended endcap because I knew I wanted batteries that would last me over 8 hours. Started out in the morning at 7:30 with a freshly charged (4.2 V) 18650 with a new, primed Boge 3.0 XL carto (was reading 2.9 ohms) and a 3-ml tank full of GJ. I set it for 4.4 V and did not deviate throughout the day. I vaped right on through the blinking light until the device stopped providing any power at all. It pooped out during a intense vaping session in a 45 min bumper to bumper traffic nightmare. The time was 6:10 pm. My tank was working on fumes. I figure I vaped close to 4 ml of 24 mg GJ in 10.5 hours at 6.7 W. This is at the low end of of my voltage range, so with most juices I would get less time. Note that this longevity will decrease with a higher voltage and/or lower resistance. I am a heavy vaper working lung draws, double draws, and triple draws. The 18650 is the only battery I would feel comfortable with walking out of my house early in the morning, not expecting to be back until after dinner, with no other hardware but a full tank sitting atop my standard V2. I do not like toting around any extra hardware. If you fit this type of profile, and I know a lot of people do not, consider the standard with extended endcap for its ability to house the 18560.
Thanks to everybody that contributed to this thread. It did help me in choosing the right device.

Order the full size, the 18650 is a all day battery. And with the standard cap using the 18490 its nice and small.. Both mods have the same diameter........
