I started with 18 and it didn't cut it, jumped to 24 for about a week. Back to 18 for a couple months, 16, for 2 weeks, 14 for 2 weeks, now getting 12. I've pretty much chain vaped my way through, so going lower at least puts my mind at rest. And now I rest better, too. Didn't sleep so well at 18.

From 12 -> 3 mg in about 5 months I really didn't notice much

3-> 2 -> 1-0 I have had to do VERY slowly
I had a massive bout of depression. I mean I litterally found myself sitting at the computer crying for no reason. Bumped back up to 6 mg for a day and started back down again slower.

When I hit 6 months cig free I had my one and only serious OMG I NEED A CIG NOW moment. Once again handled by vaping hte heck out of 6 mg for a bit.

2 weeks at 0-1mg now (mostly 0) and no further problems

I've dropped my nic level several times over the years 50-40-30-20-25. What generally happened was I would vape more for a couple weeks and then kind of settle back into my normal routine. You'll notice those were all pretty big jumps. I DIY and base 10 just makes the math easier, but it also turned out that 30-20 was just too big a reduction for my system to handle so I stepped back up to 25. If I reduce it any further I'll do it in 5 or even 2 mg increments. As a couple of others have said, keep some of the higher strength around for stress, waking up etc.

ETA: On the insomnia thing, having some lower strength for night time is definitely helpful. I just made some 10 mg for chain vaping on ecf before bed

Went from 24 mg to 18 mg nicotine in a week. What I did do was go to a 80PG/20VG mix to get back some of the throat hit was missing with the lower nic. I did notice the flavors of the juices are better and at times differant with lower nicotine levels. I never liked any chocolate flavors, but the 0 nic the wife uses tastes wonderful. I don't DIY so I mix to level I want. I think that 24 mg and 0 mg nic mix gives a better tasting mix then buying a 12 mg level. I plan to stay in the 12-18 mg nicotine range. As always it's up to each person to find what works for them. The big thing is NOT going back to stinkies.

I vaped 24mg for the first 6 months and then kinda nonchalantly went down to 18 one day when making my DIY base. I used that for around 6 months until I got into rebuildables. I never in a million years guessed I would be happy using 6mg or 0mg mostly VG, but I get a pretty good satisfaction with my lungs being absolutely full of vapor as opposed to a good strong throat hit from a carto. It's a different feeling, and I do get the cartotank out every now and then, especially first thing in the morning. Carto's just feel a little scratchy and dry now and I've come to strongly prefer soaking wet thick vapor from a RDA.
