So how do I start? Just wait till morning and say no more cigarettes and just dive right in? I know I dont want to smoke after I start vaping, (Kinda afraid of nic overdose). Battery is charging, set to go...maybe a little nervous?

When the light goes green you can start. What I did as an experiment - I wasn't really trying to quit - is when I felt that urge I decided I'd take three good drags off the ecig (you don't have a supermini, do you?) and then if I still wanted a cigarette I'd have one. That never happened for 4 and a half months. I'd still have a cigarette if I wanted one.

And just so you know, there are many here that still have an occasional cigarette or even 5-10 a day with no reported problems (of course if they died we wouldn't hear from them then, would we ;-)

If you feel the need for a cigarette after doing that then you might need a higher nicotine level. I have what is becoming a standard red flag on too much nicotine - hiccups. Happened yesterday - too much 24mg.

Have you looked at the posts about the shipping/primer fluid that is in the new atomizers? If not search 'primer'. Don't over drip on the atomizer and don't over fill your carts....

I smoked 20+ a day for over 20 years, the first day I had my kit, I smoked around half a dozen cigs, the second day, I smoked three or four cigs, the third day, I just decided not to bother smoking anything and have vaped from then on.

Everybody is different though, it could take you 2 hours, two days, 2 weeks or 2 months...just see how you go and do what feels right for you (if the strength of the nicotine carts or juice you are using is too low, you may find that you need to supliment your vaping with some smokes until you find the right strength).

Either way, there is a massive base of knowledge and plenty of helpfull folks here to help you get the best out of your new vaping gear.

Enjoy your new hobby and good luck packing in the smokes! :)

As soon as that light turns green throw all of your analogs away. If I can do it anyone can. When I could not smoke I dipped copenhagen, I always had a pack of cigs and a can of dip on me. It has been 3 months since I have smoked or dipped. I vape like crazy but at least it is not tobacco.:D

Wow.

Why put any pressure on yourself?

As others have said... enjoy the vape. If you feel like lighting up.... light up. If you feel like vaping... vape.

If you are like many, the desire to light up will diminish and the desire to vape will increase.

This doesn't have to be cold turkey and this doesn't have to have any pain or anguish associated with it at all. Just go and be happy.

Thanks for the support!

It's a Joye 510...Marlb High (18mg Nicotine).

So it was time to go outside for a smoke, but instead just hit it a few times. First drag the light came on and nothing happened...no vapor. Second time I got it. I did about 5 drags and skipped a cigarette and stayed dry (It's raining outside).

Thanks again...1 analog avoided!

Yeah, this isn't like the normal quit-smoking methods where if you backslide you are done for.
If you want a cigarette have a cigarette.

In the end the vapor will win, it's just a matter of time.

I keep forgetting to add this point. It's quite important for those that have attempted to quit in the past (I didn't ;-)

But my friends say it really takes the pressure off and as a result, lessens the 'need' for a cigarette at the same time.
