Bwah ha ha. Wonder no more! (NOPE!) Just a hobby.

P.S.

@Dante: The test that you do has to be the same watts... or it won't tell us anything.

So.... 2.0 ohm at 3.7 volts is 6.845 watts. 4.7 volts at 3.2 ohms = 6.90313 ... so that'd be close.
Ohm's Law Calculator

Wow that's a cool calculator. So to get equivalent watts I'd need to run my LR atty at 3.3. My 3ohm atty at roughly 5.2. Ok so are used watts directly related to battery consumption? As I have them set up now my LR atty is at 9.075 watts. My 3ohm atty set up is at 7.053 watts. Lol. I'm really making this too scientific. On a day to day basis I rarely run my battery out anyway. But it is interesting.

Well, it's just that watts take volts and amps into consideration at the same time.... so yes... related. But consumption is determined by the efficiency of the device too. Remember we're talking watts of OUTPUT at the atty connector.. not battery input into the device.

See? E-cigs are educational too! :D lol

With a boost mod, watts are the only thing that is going to make a significant difference in battery life. Lower watts, longer battery life. The output watts has to be converted to input watts, and then that can be used to find the input amps, which is directly related to battery consumption.

Therein lies the essence of the question/problem.... ;) And the reason for needing device efficiency #'s for any given device...

But he was asking about watts at the atty.

That's why I qualified it with "mathematically speaking". Math is great if you know all the factors, but since the efficiency of the gadgetry is an unknown there's no numbers to plug in.

Arrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!!!

You have to factor in device efficiency (and type) people!

Boosters draw more amps to get the boost!!!!!! Stacked systems don't (they buck). His provari is a booster.

The real world experience above is good (thanks donnah).

You can't just crank amp numbers! (message to everyone above).

Besides, the experience and longevity of the atty counts too IMO. Experience higher than battery life.

am i the only one battery life on my provari doesn't worry me at all?
I mean, my 2nd battery charges in about half the time my first battery vapes...so I just constantly cycle batteries..

i'm never stuck craving because my batteries are dead.
I have 12 18350s and only need 2 of them.

Ya I've at least do far found no worries. I have 2 18490's to cycle. Only takes about 2 hours to charge one and all day to drain one. I guess I wasn't concerned as much about battery usage as just what was actually the most efficient use of it.
