OK, seriously, why does everyone gotta be a man?

This is true. I buy off classifieds and even though my name and address is on the post for shipping ( Cynthia) I get dude and buddy. Maybe we need to add flowers and bows and butterflies to our signatures?? Guys are often, not always, not the most observant of the sexes
Doesn't my Avatar look like a girl? It IS a girl. It should look like one. What's so funny is Rocketpunks Avatar. Definitely a girl. And he's a guy. He's the rocket..ha ha. And some guys put their muse up as an Avatar. Maybe they think you are muse or girlfriend Radarluv1

1. Chicks who vape are hot.
2. ECF is probably about 75% men i would guess. It's really not our fault. Men are gadget tinkerers and so on. Women, not so much. I know I'm generalizing but hey, it's true anyway.
3. Apologies, we know women are on ecf but i think it's the default to assume male author.

I don't care about gender...it isn't a dating site for the love of pete...good thing too since most of the folks i interact with and i share the same gender LOL

p.s. i call male and female alike "dude" if appropriate but not "buddy"
dude is toootally a unisex term :)

"Dude" has evolved into a unisex term common in the vernacular of today's youth. Originally it was meant to describe a man who was well-dressed, well-groomed and concerned about his appearance.

It's also used nowadays as an exclamation, as in, "Dude, that was awesome!"

To me it's odd to refer to a woman as "dude". I guess I'm old school.

OOOMMMGGGGGG only 1 person took it the wrong way, and that was waaayyyyyyy back in the beginning of this thread.

It was all very light hearted really from the get go. At the time, I did not have a picture up, so someone would say "he said" or whatever referring to me or a post. I was also feeling pretty, pretty gooooood after having been at the pub.

If you read the first post, it isn't at all aggressive. AFTER THAT, I posted a pic, which I didn't think I was allowed to do, so obviously now you can tell I am a chick. I call everyone dude all the time too.

Really, I am not that easily offended. It became comical really, especially after 20 pages, which has mostly been all good fun.

Not clear who you are responding to - it helps if you quote the previous poster. ;)

I'm not a guy, although I have been called one even with Princess in my signature. But I have to admit, I thought two members were women who weren't. You could put something girly in your avatar.

Then folks would just mistake you for an effeminate man. "Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot."
