Since I started vaping in November I've spent $240. I would have spent $390 on cigarettes in the same time span.

But here is what I've got.

-Three E-Power 14650s. Two in use, one new for spare parts if needed.
-enough 14650 batteries to last me 7-10 days without charging. Multi battery charging so I charge batteries only once on the weekend.
-enough juice to last me another three months.
-enough cartos to last me the rest of the year, at least.
-a few various dual coil cartos for experimentation.

Well, the actual dollar amount is high... I have a Buzz Pro, A Reo Grande, and Riva set-up with about 7 extra batteries and 3 tanks (the M1A1 for my Buzz, the VPX stainless steel tank (that rocks) and the Mini-sub from Mom and Pops.. my least expensive tank with a great performance after 10 days with the same carto it came with). I've also bought a huge stash of DIY flavors as I've learned how to mix my own juice and that in itself has been a substantial investment. But I have enough cartos, juice supplies and devices to keep me vaping for years (I might have to get a replacement battery.... or more PG or some other DIY product somewhere down the road but my basic kit is complete with at least 100 flavors to play with, mix, experiment with and these costs will be minimal). SO for a newbie vaper with 4 months of cig-free time under my belt I've probably easily surpassed a grand. But ask me again in 2 years what the cost break-down saved me in the long run! I bought a lot of my supplies in bulk, so I got them at a lower cost. And then ask me in 20 years how much vaping saved me in doctors bills! And then ask my family how much it's saved THEM in terms of now having a cigarette-free mother/wife/daughter..... it's priceless as LIFE is priceless. I don't care how much I spend.. I have FREEDOM now from that repulsive habit that had me in hand-cuffs for nearly 20 years. I'm loving vaping and my spending reflects that:)

But to get back to your point. Yes, in the long run I WILL save money. I spent up to $100 a week on cigarettes!

So far since the first of the month I've spent right around $175, and I'll be spending another $20 or so on juice this week just to get myself set for the next month. Then it'll be general maintenance things like new cartos as necessary and a monthly $20 or $30 to rejuvenate juice supply. Thinking I can do it on $40/mo or less.

Ouch. I just looked up my spending, and it's about $500 in 61 days. I've got 3 differing eGo-style kits, two mods that I've built, tons of e-juice, flavorings, and other DIY supplies. I need to buy some more storage, now. ;)

I don't expect to be spending much from this point, for quite awhile, but who knows?

I spent about $30 a month on RYO cigarettes, before. It's fine with me to pay more for this.

I'm ashamed to tell how much I've spent, way too much is all I can say. When I started vaping in October I was spending $50 or more a week on analogs and was going to save that money. Well, thats NOT happening, lol and I'm worse than a kid in a candy store. Although, I did manage to stash away a few hundred bucks but I've been looking around at Reo's Mods website...................

I suppose you all know the rest of the story?

i've spent about $450 since picking up vaping in mid september. i've had a few adventures that contributed to me spending that much, a good chunk of it being shipping charges. i've bought a few packs of parts that i ended up not liking, i've received a fair number of dud ce2s, and some of my current juices seem to shorten the lifespan of the cartos i do like. but i figure at a little over $1/piece, it's not exactly heartbreaking if it doesn't last more than a week (or in some cases like 5 days).
my current vaping habits likely don't exceed $60/month. i usually spend more than that, but all the juices/parts i buy usually last me a fair bit longer than a month.
i used to spend an average of $7.50 a day for tobacco so whatever. the real reason i switched to vaping was to improve my health, i didn't expect to save a fair amount of money. :)
i wish i had discovered vaping while i was in university, it would have helped a whole bunch.

$900 spent, but I am set for 6 months. That matches my cigarette costs, so in a few months I will be coming out ahead, and now Iknow what I want, so no more wasting money on trying out different kits, cartos, or juice. Plus, Ihave a few things to sell, so that will be SOME money coming back. Or I could be nice and PIF it all. :D

So you had to mention the elephant in the vapers room? Now that I think about it, I have spent more than I expected or would have wanted to...though it has been enjoyable. Since starting vaping at the end of november I have probably invested about $1000 roughly on 2 mods, 250ml of nic base, 12 DIY flavorings, DIY supplies, roughly 200 ml of premixed juice, atties, cartos, tanks, , modding equipment to make my own homemade mods , molding and casting materials, and a mini lathe. I don't think I have saved over analogs BUT analogs are used and gone after smoking, I can reuse much of my vape supplies and if I can slow down on trying out new things I will eventually break even and maybe even be less costly in the long run. Not anytime soon though......still need a VV device but that'll come next payday

This question is not really intended for modders. I'm sure your expenses are thru the roof.
I'm really interested in the 'normal' ex-smoker and how it's saved you in tobacco expensive.

To be fare and honest, I'm sitting on about $225 or so for my first month. That's about $7.50 a day.
I bought extra attys, extra batteries, extra carts and a few bottles of juice the first two weeks into all this.
I should be good to go for a few months, now, I hope, which will bring my daily total down to within reason.
(3 months = $2.50 a day.)

How about you? Have you gone overboard or have you used common sense to quit tobacco??? What are your expenses so far?

Thanks for sharing,

I have never properly sat down and done the math, but I know the first two months was the most expensive as that was trial and error time. I had to toy around with different batts, liquids, and cartos vs cartridges to figure out what I liked. After a couple of months I knew exactly what worked for me, and since then I spend about $20 a month or less. The months I have to replace a battery or a charger (which consistently is every few months) that goes up by $15 or so. FAR FAR less than the $4 a day habit with analogs.

I am a no frills vaper who only vapes in the evenings, but in the evening I have been know to vape a lot. I do not care for flavored liquids, I like the Joye menthol liquids and occasionally the non menthol. They are the only two I switch back and forth on. The first few months I was buying all these different flavors, and they are all still sitting in a drawer somewhere. LOL Never got into them much.
