hi there,

i'm probably not used to this forum's layout..
but can someone point me in the right direction?

I've done my 5 obligatory messages, so that can't be it.
But I can not seem to post/reply in this thread:
.../forum/joyetech-eroll-mini/461981-new-eroll-pcc-battery.html

I can also not find any marking of the post being locked or similar, and all reply options (like in new members forum part) are not available.

thanks for the help.

Tim

Just one more step. You'll have to wait until the site refreshes at 25 minutes after the hour. I know it seems like a hassle, but it helps the moderators to keep the spam contained. Once you've been here a while and get a look at the number of spam posts that sometimes come up here you'll appreciate the process.

to ecf datrax. Nice to meet you and glad you are here. I'm sure there are other threads that you can find pertaining to the e-roll. Just search for it. Look forward to reading more about you. Have fun and happy vaping.

Hi Datrax and welcome to ECF.
You'll see closed threads here because, although there is no activity and the post is subsequently closed, it may have good information in it, so it's not "thrown away"

There is one other area that has a restriction on posting, and that's the classifieds section. You have to go through a verification process to prove you are who you say you are to post there. That helps to keep fraud down.

Anyway, here is a link to further explain things:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-members-how-many-posts-do-i-need-titles.html

Hope that helps and Happy Vaping!

ah ok, thanks everyone for replying, and YES, of course.. anything anti-spam is always highly appreciated!!! :)
also just notice i had to change settings manually to follow replies on posts/replies which I just did.

Of course I can understand closed threads - just thought i'd add a bit of info to that post, but never mind.. i'll do better then.
If I can get the cheap replacement battery from china to actually work, (the soldering is no issue, i'm experienced in small soldering jobs),
Then i'll do a new post with photo's of fixing and post it on here, as it might be of some use to others perhaps.
(considdering the product is end of life and eroll kits were popular).

I'm not desperate to get it working, my eLeaf mini istick + nautilus mini came in today, buuut.. I have always hated throwing things out that can be fixed, and if all it takes is a cheap 8$ battery to replace, i'll gladly try, so that my unit can find a new home with family or friends.

Perhaps i'll even keep an eye out for broken units and fix those to get even more friends and family started, or donate them back to charity.. there's someone on the dutch forum that i'm also on, that just proposed a charity drive for old kits/liquids for those who can't afford the initial investment to vaping that i'm following with a keen eye too :)

Hi again

Personally, I would like to see that one when you do it. The original guy who posted about that never did follow up. Just curious: How long did you use before you decided the battery needed to be replaced? That's pretty tough use on a battery, considering how frequently an eRoll needs to be recharged. I'm guessing about a years use and then the PCC's capacity starts going downhill?

We have a Pay It Forward sub forum on ECF too, but it's limited to USA only as international shipping for a PIF can get to be crazy expensive.

Yeah, these things are best organised locally, or for low postal fees of course.. nice to hear you guys have something in the US too.

As for the usage on the PCC.. well that's the bizar thing.. i used it VERY heavy for a couple of months, it was constantly hanging on a USB feed during business hours, only to leave it when I went outside, shopping etc. but then in the car, back to USB charger, at home back on the wall socket etc.
Oh and I was using 4 sticks in the unit constantly swapping (yes.. incase you're wondering too.. I still don't know how I managed in retrospect, it's soooo obvious I clearly needed something larger, but back then I was very much focussed on getting away with vaping in places no longer allowed by the tabacco law's in the Netherlands - and the eroll was the 'prettiest' solution, always good for a friendly chat with a restaurant owner etc.

SO.. did I overload the PCC.. i'm guessing yes.. but it was working fully normal when I put it into the cupboard as far as I remember.
Now the PCC does not load at all, hook it to a charger and it immediately goes green, put a stick in and it goes into red/blue loading (and stays like this for hours.. I think 12-13 hours is what I had it in before deciding "ok, this is enough".)
After this huge long charge, it only charged the 1 stick enough to last about 10-15% of it's normal charge.

The soldering should be easy (i'm able to solder a lot smaller then these leads, so piece of cake),
but if replacing the battery does not do the trick, i'm not able to investigate further.
Lets keep fingers crossed and as said, i'll make some shots of it.. VERY curious to actually see if replacing the battery will do it..
so that's only a few weeks to wait on delivery from china.. and the next sunday i'll take the time to do the build :)

If there's anything else you'de like me to try when i'm opening the box, let me know.
As said, micro soldering etc. is no challenge, i've done various gameconsole repairs in the past, but you will need to specify any materials ;)
