Not going to wade through all this, page 1 was enough.

I said it before and I'll say it again.

It is NOT the Provari people take issue with, it is some of the Owners. Op's post is the perfect example.:glare:

I've gotten the same attitude from people with mechs; "Oh, a ProVari? Pshaw, you don't know what you're missing, you need to blah blah quad coil blah sub ohm blah blah wattage blah blah." It's a two-way street. :) It's not the device, it's the person holding it.

Well guys. I can only say that some women aren't always going to be impressed by your thingy no matter how cool you believe it is or how much better you think yours is than anyone else's. You can't walk around expecting they always will, or expect special treatment, nor be offended when they aren't. If you are secure with your own thingy, then you know there is no contest to be made out of it.

Now that I've said all that, I will talk about PVs and vape stores.

I had a run in at my local B&M. I ran in and said OMG I'm out of PB&J AND Andes Mint!!!! HELP!!!!!!!! They mixed me up some great juice and I was on my way in no time :)

I can't stand this attitude coming from anyone - Oh you don't have a _______? Then you're not really vaping.

Here, we're talking about ecigs but I can't stand it no matter what the subject: cars, guns, ecigs, whatever. Sadly, I caught myself doing something similar at work a couple weeks ago. There was a guy standing outside vaping with a basic ego setup. Immediately I start telling him how he should check out this, that, and the other thing.

Why do we do this? This guy and his wife had both quit for 2 years using those setups. They were completely content with what they had because it worked for them. Maybe we need to accept that those of us that are way "into" this are also in the vast minority. Look at the number of ecigs purchased, then look at how many are either egos or cig alikes.

Food for thought.

Yeah, exactly. My mom will be 80 this year and has smoked since she was 15. She started vaping recently (independently of me - I asked her "Hey, have you heard about vaping?" and she said "Oh yeah, I have some, I even have the one that plugs into the computer [a passthrough]). I Facetimed with her recently and she was impressed with the amount of vapor from my setup, and showed me how little she was getting with her CE4-type clearos; so I thought about sending her one of my Provaris and an Aerotank or something and then realized it's probably too big for her, and maybe an eRoll would be better and easier for her to deal with. She's not incompetent (she can still build her own computers and I am constantly telling her to stop standing on chairs to paint walls and stuff), but I think she needs something simple and easy to deal with.

At the rally in L.A. today the guy who patented e-cigarettes in 1965 was there giving out samples of his cig-a-likes. He was very cool, btw, he's 82 now. :) The brand is 1963. That was the first cig-a-like I've ever tasted and it wasn't bad at all; my boyfriend said it's better tasting than the convenience store brands. So that's an option too. I can't use them, too much nicotine for me. It's another option.

So yeah, I LOVE my Provaris and toppers, but I know they're not going to be for everyone, everyone is different and should just do whatever works for them.

By the way, my Subaru is better than whatever someone else drives, my Xbox is better than your PS4, my iPhone is better than your Android is better than your Windows Phone, my PC is better than your Mac, my Democrats are better than your Republicans, my coffee is better than your coffee. :p (See, it's not just e-cigs...)

I think it's human nature to want to share a good thing. Now see, I'm that person with 3 basic "ego" batteries ... only one is even a real eGo anyway LOL but they do everything I need :) I've got some good toppers and I'm totally happy with my setup - though always all the time everywhere I go, wanting to learn more about everything.

When I see someone with other setups I'm always curious and want to see what they are and what they do, even though I don't plan to upgrade anytime soon, if ever. I like to see what they are and how they work. I have friends with advanced gear, who are hobbyists... I enjoy their enthusiasm and it doesn't make me feel wrong or inferior for what I have. But then again my friends are really cool and I've had a chance to vape on some pretty nice setups too so... their fun is my fun

my coffee is better than your coffee. )

Beg to differ! From Deathwish Coffee, Valhalla Java. Odinforce Blend:

Going to this specifically:

I'm not going to justify my attitude or anything else, but this was the point in what I was trying to make. Got it, it holds batteries, therefore "Battery holder".

The reason it made me a little curious and kind of chipped at me was just due to the fact that she works in a shop and has never seen a mod with a digital display before? Yet they sell the Innokin iTaste MVP series. Odd isn't it? Overall, the point I was making was you don't work for a business and not know what you're selling, or be somewhat of the 'subject matter expert' (SME) of the other items that may walk into your store. That would be like me trying to sell and repair TV's and not know a damn thing about the brand, manufacturing process, parts, accessories, etc of every possible brand of television that walked through my door. Not to mention you had to be there to hear HOW it was said as well. I think that's why the other salespeople that were in there were kind of thrown back and she was quickly moved off the sales floor. Again, am I justifying my blunt and straightforward response? No, I'm clarifying what my post was intended to be about. Knowledge of your products and various other products out and about. Again, other than that, pretty good store to stop into. The rest of the folks there have a pretty vast knowledge of their equipment both in and out of the store. They were also pretty helpful as well. And yes, I did ask them a lot of questions, they did answer them in a professional manner, and if they didn't know they said "We really don't know". Which to me is an acceptable answer. Would I have did the same thing with any other device? Absolutely.

Now back to my hole... ah but before I go - needed to mention - my wife wanted to see what all the craze was about, why I've been spending copious amounts of time in my "den" and what I've been brewing up. She's smoked back in her teen years and just didn't like it, she's smoked hookahs with me in the past and loved it, although it gave her a headache from time to time. So she wanted to taste some of that "flavored air", which is what she calls it, and I was cool with that. Now she's content and she's having a blast. I told her I would eventually get her an RBA / RDA so she could build her own stuff, even show her how to do it. Or direct her in the right direction to get it done. She wrapped her first coil, made her first atomizer setup, and told me it was frustrating at first but she had fun doing it. And she'd gladly do it again.

Just a few hours ago, I was posting on a thread about "vaping snobs" and their holier than thou additude, and I was sharing my experience (I got snobbed) in my local well branded vape shop just 2 days ago, then proceeded to announce how with me being a noob, everyone on this forum had been nothing but kind, supportive and understanding. Then I come to this thread, read your original post and lmfao because I felt like the woman tried to snob you, and you put her in her place, and we're still kind enough to stay and give their establishment a great review. And as I continued to read posts, all I saw was people slamming you for what you had done! I'm starting to rethink the glowing things I said about all members of this forum. All you did was put her back into her rightful place. She didn't need to be rude, and therefore caused your reaction to her. And if your wife wants to join in a hobby you enjoy, she is of the legal age to make her own choices and more power to her! I'm sorry, but I feel you got reamed a bit here, and I'm sorry, even though I'm not the one who did it. You shared what was supposed to be a funny little bit, and we're judged unfairly I feel. I'm with you on this one, and I know less than nothing about all of this!

No hipster here!!! I actually despise hipsters... living in a town with a large liberal arts college/university they are EVERYWHERE!!! Ugh!!

Im just a normal guy, usually wearing some sort of heavy metal concert t-shirt (slayer, slipknot) jeans and Doc Martins or flip flops. When I'm not in a dress shirt and tie at work

So there I was, walked in with my ProVari in hand (because it's amazingly reliable and because it's a ProVari).

I believe it's this attitude that irks non Provari owners. I agree with everything else the OP said...I have worked in retail over 27 years and I better know my product and the competition's as well....but someone says something like this it sets other off...just my 2 cents
