Did a quick search and couldn't find a similar thread so ... is it okay to dry burn the Ego One atomisers?
Since I don't have the skill, materials or tools to take the atties completely apart to clean, rewick and recoil, I just take out the connection pin and either run hot water from a dispenser through the heads or boil them in bottled water. Then I blow out any excess moisture from the heads, reattach the pin, put them on the battery and do a few quick dry burns until the coil starts to glow.
I read somewhere from joyetech that the silica wicking material surrounding the coil is to allow dry burning without damaging the cotton wick But if the cotton is wrapped around the silica, wouldn't it burn anyway when the coil and silica starts to glow?
It doesn't taste burnt after I do a dry burn, but I do wonder if the cotton inside has been scorched from the heat...what do you think?
