I don't think that cellphones use their power as fast as Ego batteries, especially with dual coil and/or really low ohm atomizers. Not really a comparison there. I have had varied results from different laptops and their batteries, some last many years, some don't. My wireless headphones eat a pair of AAA Ni-MH's every 8 hours of use, but I have been using the same 4 batteries for over 4 years now and all is well. To get back on topic...

I have an Ego-T 2 upgrade battery, my first passthrough. No lights when it's charging, I knew that. 'When the battery is completely dead the LED will be Red during charge, But if there is a partial charge the light will Not Be Lit during charge.' (<-from supplier) It can charge for a few hours, 2 vapes while still on passthrough and the red light is back on. Still vapes fine. Turn it off and the red light stays on for a minute. Unplug it, and it's working just fine, no red light this time, only when plugged in. All I knew about the red light was that it came on when the battery was about dead. I am confused, is the red light telling me something else? More important, how will I know it's done charging?

When plugged in the PT will always 'top off' to the top charge. So even though there is no light - full charge while plugged in - if you take a few vapes the charger wiill come back on to top off to full charge. This is normal. The supplier is wrong about the light will not be on during charge - if it's charging the light will be on.

On why the red light comes on (while plugged) only after a few minutes of vaping - just get the idea that you have regular batt (no PT) and you take it off the charger at full charge then you vape it for a while - still a lot of charge in it, then put it back on the charger and it will begin to charge to full charge :- )

Thanks Kent, I don't know if the red light goes when when it needs charging, but it definitely goes on when when I plug it in after some usage. I will assume it's fully charged when the light goes off. I should e-mail my supplier and get them to fix their erroneous info. Should make for a good laugh since I already e-mailed them to say it was broken, purely because it didn't function according to their erroneous info. Thanks for straightening me out, I'll go straighten my supplier out ASAP.

Understand, I didn't put it on a meter or anything :) But pretty sure when the light goes off - no charging is taking place. I know on the regular charger as the batt gets near full it goes from red to blinking red then green and more on the green side until no red = fully charged. So it's no biggy - just that it's not broken as you may have suspected.

I didn't use a meter either, but after a lot of charging, using, leaving it on while plugged in, unplugging, using, leaving it on while unplugged, charging, etc., I am about positive that the red light is only on while charging. I wish could have a light to indicate it was done charging, but it would be on the battery, not the charging cord. That would drain just a little power, probably confusing the charging system. A few slow blinks from the button would work, at least it would be something. They may have had a product tester say the same thing and went into production anyways. I thought it was broken only because my supplier said the red light came on when the battery was dead. I assumed it wasn't charging or the battery was worthlessly dead because the red light was on for over an hour. Learning curve, no instructions, supplier miss-information almost had me sending it back. Thanks again, Kent. I really like this new toy and thanks to you, it's a keeper. Somebody should write up an in depth review of this battery on the forums. I couldn't find anything.
