I just got a new E-power. Arrived in the mail 30 minutes ago.

It already had an atomizer and mouthpiece installed and the battery seems to be working ok.

I hit the button and took a drag and it tastes like inhaling burnt styrofoam. I pulled apart the mouthpiece from the atomizer, there does appear to be liquid here.

Is there something I'm missing here? Should I have primed the atomizer? If so, how do you do that? I've searched that subject here, and I'm sure the info is here, I just can't find it?

All help appreciated.

ohhhhhhhh K...now i feel like a super idiot

on further inspection i notice that at what first appeared to be a cart inserted into the atomizer...is just a mouthpiece with no filler at all? I opened one of these pre-filled deals and put it on...im still tasting a bit of plastic though...do you think i could have damaged the atomizer?

Flood the atty with juice and always keep it wet.

You could have... a dry atty coil can "pop"/break. Plastic from the cart can melt onto the wick too. However, more likely you have burnt stuffis. Rinse it out with warm/hot tap water. Blow through the open (non-threaded) end with a full breath or two. Put a couple of drops of juice in. Put filled cart on. Vape.

If you don't have juice, put filled cart on and wait a minute or two. vape.

Cleaning melted plastic off of the bridge is nearly impossible..... switch atties 1st if you can (assuming the end of the plastic cart is melted).

I do not see any melted plastic on the atty at all. I also don't see any damage to this plastic cap ( I guess this was just sent for shipping purposes?). The atomizer itself has a burnt smell to it. And I think what happened is, I was hitting the button with no juice in there, no cartridge either and may have burned this atomizer. I will try a new one when I get home tonight.

All the Joye attys I ordered came with an empty cart as cover, mouthpiece as you call it, probably like what you had. Yeah, you need to take that off and put a filled cart on the atty. You might have burned the few drops you dripped into the atty and have to clean it now. I think your atty is ok. Try another atty if you have one, but with a cart filled with juice and drip 3 drops into the atty too. Lots of threads here about cleaning attys. Good luck!
