I think you have to compute your watts by the volts while under load. I don't know the load on a GRand with a 1.5 ohm atty. I dont have one of those load testers. My guess is that its probably 3.7 under load when its 4.1 native which would give you 9.1 watts.

I do see why you are asking this as I would like a definitive answer for the same reasons you have

I don't know much about this so I'm just guessing here and hope that someone with real knowledge will correct me.

Long live mickey and where did you go Joe dimagio.

QUOTE=hubseven;4800733]My Grands batts, aw imr 18650's come off the charger at 4.1 volts, if I am using a 1.5 atty are the first few vapes 11.2 watts? I do not know what 4.1 volts under load is. When batt reads 3.7 volts am I vaping at 9 volts? I'm trying to see if I need a VV or VW unit. Any help would be appreciated, as usual. Thank you.[/QUOTE]

Without going in to a lot of detail, you would probably be very pleased with either option. With VV mods, SR attys/cartos are the thing to use because you really don't wanna run a lot of voltage thru a LR atty/carto. With VW mods (Darwin & The Kick, both by Evolv, are the only VW options available/to be available as far as I'm aware), you set it at the wattage you like and the electronics read the resistance of the atty/carto in use, and adjust the wattage accordingly.

I'm trying to see if I need a VV or VW unit.

Are you trying to decide if you need either ?? Or trying to decide between the two ??

For me the answer is yes to either. As far as between the two it doesn't matter to me.
They will both produce the same goal they way I would use them. Which is ....

1) turn down device (either voltage or wattage)
2) put on any atty or carto you like.
3) make sure its juiced up
4) fire it up and take a hit.
5) turn up the device a bit (V or W)
6) repeat (4)
7) repeat (5) until it taste warm and yummy !!

There you go watts or volts it doesn't matter if you don't want it to.

The thinking is that watts = watts on all devices so you could do the Ronco ....
"Set it and forget it" thing with VW. But the fact is watts don't equal watts with different types of attys and cartos so your always going to be adjusting it anyway. Throw different juice into the mix and theres no way your going to just set across the board and swap different ohm or types of attys/cartos.

Hope my humble opinion helps.

Its nice to understand the numbers game but don't get caught up in it.

Absolutely - I go to the VIP meet every month (although I had to miss yesterday's, I was sick and didn't want to plague the group) and it's a blast. It's all ECF folks so they're cool right out of the gate, and they're even better when you get to know them in person. Everyone brings their stuff to show off (this is, by the way, how I came to REOland - thanks to Erfmann and REET_AZ), juices get swapped or tossed into a community pile (take what you like, leave what you don't), we have a raffle every month (a 50/50 to split the buyin, and people donate stuff to it as well), that kind of thing. They're great - of all the social stuff my wife and I do, I look forward to the vape meets the most.

If you have a NY-centric forum or thread here, ask em if they'd be interested in a meet, and just go from there. I'm sure you could also ask for tips from people on ECF who have started them up.

edit/ps - if you have any local vendors, meets like this are a GREAT place for them to supplement their sales by bringing merch to the meets, and it's good biz for them to donate prizes to the raffles as well.

Short answer= No to vapefest, Have you? How was it? I'm in New York, just outside NYC and have never heard of one in the area. Planning one would be interesting, any ideas on the logistics and organizing of one? Thanks.

Hi hubseven,

There are indeed vape meetups in the NYC area - I'll let you know when the next one is. It would be helpful if you could send me an email to clickbangradio at gmail.com

Also, since I see some talk about battery performance under load in this thread. I did a video a while ago comparing different brands of 18650 batteries under load. This was done without using a PV, but rather just alligator clips and a multimeter. Hope you find it useful!

We've thrown up that video around here several times in our frequent battery skirmishes.

Batteries are srs bsns.
