Old habits die hard

I had to put remove my ashtray and lighter from my desk today.

No, not just put them in a drawer. I had to put them away, in another room-- far away from my desk.

I tried to light my e-cig this morning. Fortunately, I caught myself before flame hit plastic.

So anyone else have an easy time giving up the analogs, but a hard time letting go of the habits that go along with them.

Excellent point Richie :D

Actually Wendy, you could keep the ash tray if it made you more comfortable. Clean it up, and use it to put your e-cig in while working. Trash the lighter.

On my second day of vaping, I came close to flipping my e-cig out the car window. Now I keep the windows up.

Yeah, it took awhile before I got used to not having the flame on the end of my ecig. I kept wanting to flick the ashes in an ashtray.. and I had to get used to being able to lay it down anywhere without burning stuff.
Now I think I'm going to have to put it in a pocket or something like Richie..
I've misplaced it twice this week and it took awhile to find it both times.
I have the black DSE-901, so it looks like a pen and when I just lay it down anywhere, sometimes it's hard to find later on when I want it.

Good idea, I have a cute little metal ashtray I've never used (didn't want to ruin the finish) I can keep my e-cig from wandering all over my desk with it.

I also discovered that the green LED on the end of my battery does not work so well for singing off loose threads or melting off the corner of plastic wrap.

Maybe I should replace my lighter with a little pair of thread snippers.

I am so with you on this. Every morning before I leave for work I keep picking up a lighter and putting it in my pocket. Driving down the road, crack my window, have a couple of puffs on my 901 and blow the vapor towards the open window! LOL Old habits die hard. Washed my ashtrays and put them away so that doesn't bother me but when the phone rings I still grab a lighter thats laying around, I can't talk on the phone and not 'smoke', now its vap. Today I caught myself going outside of my store to vap like I had to when I smoked. Gotta laugh at myself, 30plus years doesn't go away over night.

The habits *do* die hard. Although I vape indoors now, I still enjoy taking my 4081 outside. I just sit like I used to and vape for a while. It's relaxing.

I live in an apartment complex, and ever 5th person or so gives me the "hey buddy! you got an extra cigarette?" They look totally dumbfounded when I say "no" and show it to them. No sense explaining though. If they can't afford to by a pack of analogs, they can't afford to start vaping.

I've got a pretty little antique glass ashtray I keep my e-cig in. My "old habit" is that moment of panic when I wonder if I put my cigarette out before I left the room!

The hard part for me is leaving the hotel room to go to work. I always opened the door again to check to see if the butts were out, and the ashtray was on the bathroom counter away from anything combustible. I still can't break that habit.

but it's amazing how the room smells when I return after work.

I've been doing that too! I still don't have my head completely wrapped around the concept of vaping inside my own home. So far, I pretty much vape where I usually smoked at my desk, in our uninsulated shop which is not part of the house proper, in the truck, and outside.

Same for me Wendy. It remains novel to sit in the living room and vape.

I was always of a mind that my truck wouldn't go w/o lighting up. You know, start truck, light cig, then put in gear. Still go through the same routine, only w/ a PV instead of an analog.

Could be worse, Wendy. My new habit is to take a drag off my mini and then drop into my top pocket. I'm thinking that wouldn't be such a good idea with an analog.

from experience since I do the same thing and I occasionally still smoke analogs, it's not a good idea, because I dropped one in my pocket at the same moment I realized "Wait, there's a hot ember on the end of that thing in my pocket" got it out in time so there weren't any burns by it freaked me out
