Ha! I'm laughing at how many of us were relegated to the garage to smoke! Not anymore...its pretty cool not having to leave a show or a movie or the computer to go out and smoke. I'm ADD...so when I came back in from smoking, I would start doing something else. Its nice to actually finish something I ...... I love fishing.

I wasn't even allowed to use the garage.

I read here in ECF not long after I quit about a guy who actually tossed his first cigalike out of his car window when he was done vaping. :)

Me it was fishing in my pocket for a lighter that wasn't there.

Lately though I have been experiencing REAL cravings for really the first time since I started vaping. They usually subside fairly quickly after a few minutes vaping a slightly higher nic menthol juice but it is disturbing to be getting them now nearly 6 months in. :(

Happens to all of us at some point. To me it helps to just really think about it and vape something you love. It will go away. It is a habit we all have had for many a year, don't beat yourself up over a few cravings. You're not giving in and you found something that works.

to the OP: yeah I've done that too. I find myself looking for my old ashtray every once in a while. It was cheap and plastic and it's long since gone away, but darn if I don't look for it every now and again lol :D

For the first few months, I would occasionally get a panicky feeling that I left a cigarette burning somewhere. And, when I wanted to vape, I would have to stop and remember what I was looking for. I looked for a pack of cigarettes out of reflex. So, I would have to stop and think what I should be looking for. It especially doesn't help when you keep changing what it looks like (cig-a like, box mod, eGo, . . . .).

I still miss having a lit ciggie to burn off stray threads with. Now I have to keep scissors around instead.

Me either, and it gets cold up here

The Garage is mine! the cars get the driveway...
I long ago converted the garage into a full blown cabinet shop, and I'll do whatever the hell I please in there...
Access to my shop is by invitation only, and .....ing is NOT allowed!

I am cracking up over here reading these and feel so much better, but also a little worried that this will probably last a very long time cuz some of you have quit analogs for YEARS and still do these wacky rituals! I do quite a few and most in the morning.

I did do something stupid when drinking, quite a few drinks I must add, I SWEAR I smelled a burning smell. I looked down and my hair was "touching" the end of my PV so i frantically started to swat out the smoke/flame in my hair although there wasn't any flames or smoke in my hair. I have singed my hair before when smoking and always was nervous of setting my entire head on fire. it was like a weird instinct to do that and I'm sure I looked like a freak!

Needless to say, another moment feeling like a complete idiot but laughed like a lunatic after....

I carried my trusty 30 year old solid brass zippo lighter in my pants pocket for 2 years after I quit smoking... It was like a security blanket... ever so often I'd pull it out and flick it open and closed a few times, or just rub it with my thumb like a worry stone...

Eventually, I put it away in a desk drawer...

I'm 29 days short of 4 years, and I still catch myself reaching for that pack of smokes in my shirt pocket...
That's where I now keep my ADV device.. It was a fistpack for many years, now it's an MVP v2...

Maybe that's why I find so much enjoyment and comfort from "Box" mods...
Ya think??

One of these days I'm gonna get you to swap out that MVP2 for a Reo instead, brother. I'm working on it but I'll get you to come over to us one of these days :)

I've been analog free for 49 days and honestly do not whats so ever crave analogs! First time EVER not craving cigs from all the quits I've tried prior! Actually, I'm a bit nervous because all I do is think about vaping...even dreaming about it. SCARY!!

So wake up this morning, get my coffee and slumber out to the garage to my old "smoking" spot just staring looking for my pack, lighter and ashtray??!!!??

I was literally standing there like a zombie for like 3-5 minutes and confused as to why this spot is blank. Finally dawned on me I don't smoke anymore, haven't smoked in 49 days and to go get my Triton for a morning of Torque 18 mg! I've actually walked over there a few times since I've quit but just a quick walk and about face turn around. This time it was creepy confusing.

Again..not craving analogs and I'm not overly concerned w/these mindless actions but anyone else w/these weird analog habits and how long be4 they finally went away?

Hi AngiBe, i helped to dispell those odd times...mine was not the garage but a mud room in the back. Chair, ashtray, smokes etc all there. Nice view of the backyard (where I could see all the work that needs to be done out there, lol). The DRAW to go to that room was tremendous! From the first day I vaped! So I let the room go ahead and draw me. In the beginning, when I still smoked, I went in there and vaped for at least 4 minutes, just like I used to smoke in there. If I wanted a ciggy after that I could. Once I decided I wanted to see if I could quit smoking, I did make that room off limits for smoking. I told myself I could go out front (nice chair out there too but more insects than indoors). But if I was drawn to the back room I had to vape only in there.

There are a lot of habits involved with smoking. Going outside to the smoker's section, when you drive, when the phone rings and you start gabbing, lol. I would just tell yourself "it's okay to go in there" but do spend some time Vaping in there so a new habit is formed or else forgotten. Now I seldom go in that back room at all and it doesn't have any draw for me either. Good luck to you and I always like your thoughtful posts! PhoenixD

Sorry Brother, it's just not going to happen...
I'm sure the Rio is a fantastic mod! :toast:

However, I detest bottom feeders...
And they're just too expensive for my budget...

Now, if you ever came up with a sub-$75 mod with a top mounted 510/eGo connector, I'd have to give it serious consideration...

OR

If you came up with a sub-$200 mod that was NOT a bottom feeder and ran a DNA20 chip... Well, I might just have to destroy my piggy bank...

LOL, I have occasionally been vaping in front of the TV (couldn't smoke in the house) and STILL I will set my mod down on the table and a minute later have a spate of panic that I've laid a lit cigarette down...whew! then it dawns on me. Old habits sure die hard.

Mine only lasted 3 or 4 months. So, it's been over 2 years now. Does that make you feel better?
