Hi all,

I spent a ton of time here when I first got into vaping about five years ago. After a ton of trial and error, I basically found a handful of setups I enjoyed, and pretty much have stuck with them since then.

Sadly, as time has gone on, companies have come and gone, tech has moved on, etc. I find myself finding it harder and harder to support my old stuff. My Provari Mini (RIP Provape) button has finally started to give up the ghost, and I find myself looking at a bunch of mods and tanks that might as well be in klingon with my ancient VV single coil knowledge.

So, i'd like to ask a couple of questions that folks with more modern knowledge might be able to help me with.

1) I'd like a nice mod that is going to last for a long time. I've been looking and trying to figure out the Lost Vape DNA box mods. I pretty much solely use Kanger aerotanks of various sizes, and i've hoarded like 100 atomizers for them. Is a 510 aerotank compatible with the Lost Vape DNA box mods? It says no "short or flat" 510 connections..... but I can't really figure out what that means.

2) I by no means want to cloud chase, have 16 coil 0.0001 ohm whatever (been quite satisfied with my 1.5 ohm dual coil kangers for many years), but I understand i'll likely have to get more modern on my tanks in the future. Assuming my aerotanks will work on the DNA devices, what would be a good place to start in terms of something more current in tanks?

Thanks in advance! This stuff has gotten vastly more complicated than I'm used to!

Good choice in investigating DNA mods; I think they are the way to go. I'm not familiar with the Lost Vape product line, but I can highly recommend the JAC Vapour series B DNA75W. My review: JAC Vapor series B DNA75W

A lot of former Provari owners now use a JAC as their all day, every day vaping device. An entire thread is devoted to this wonderful mod. JAC Vapour Series-B DNA 75w

My favorite and current tanks are the original Uwell Crown clearomizer. Technically, they are a sub-ohm tank, but Uwell offers a 1.2 ohm coil in case you don't wish to sub-ohm. I've used both the 0.5 ohm and 1.2 ohm coils, and quite frankly can't find much difference between them other than the 0.5 ohm takes a little higher wattage setting.

*Uwell offers the Crown 2, 3, and Valarian. I can't speak on those other than to say they have had mixed reviews and require higher wattage settings than the original Crown.

My review: Original Uwell Crown Clearomizer Tank

Awesome thanks! I was actually looking at the 75W DNA as I can't imagine a scenario where my needs would get close to needing more power, and I like the color display.

I'm hoping to put off switching tanks for a little bit (at least until I work through all my kanger atomizers). Do you have any idea if the standard 510 on those types of devices will be ok on a modern DNA box mod? I guess a follow up question would be.... I got into kanger stuff originally due to being able to use the same atmoizers in my big "at home" devices with a larger tank, but also use them in a micro on a joyetech battery on the go. I know atomizers have gotten much larger with all the coils, but any idea if there's a comparably versatile atomizer/tank combo these days?

My only experience with Kanger tanks were the old Kanger Protank which had silica wicks. I wasn't a big fan of those. I'm unsure whether your Kanger tanks are using the old silica wicks or using the more modern organic cotton.

Any tank with a 510 connector should physically work with any regulated mod.

The Jac mod is a 75W DNA. They don't have color screens. The DNA 75C is the chip with color screen.

Lost Vape makes a 75C single battery mod that you can find for around $100. This has color screen.

Lost Vape also makes a 2 battery DNA 75C. The Lost Vape Therion. May be hard and more expensive.

The 200 works just as well at low power as it does at high power, and you get a lot more battery life with 2 cells (there's also at least one dual-cell mod -- the Therion 75 -- that uses the DNA75 board).

Yea, I just realized when I checked out the JAC that it wasn't the C. I was actually looking at the 75C Paranormal because I do like the idea of double batteries in a device that never leaves my home office.

Thanks, yea I assumed anything with a chip and a 510 female would take it, but I didn't want to screw it down and blow it up. Basically double checking since I haven't purchased a mod in maybe 4 years, and a lot seems to have changed since then.

Yea, I'm leaning pretty heavily in favor of a dual 18650 since it never leaves the house. Is there a 200C? I've been trying to sort out all of the options. Cost isn't a huge issue (as long as it's not some gold plated rich mahogany situation), so if I can get the same chip in 200W, that works too for a few extra bones.

When I was studying the DNA, it seemed like the 75W(C) was maybe a newer chip, which is why I gravitated towards it as opposed to the others. I could be totally wrong on that.

Most modern regulated mods these days have a spring loaded center pin which should adapt to most any 510 connector of varying lengths.

I have a dual Battery Lost Vape Therion DNA 75c, really good mod and well build, very sturdy. I don't think they make it anymore but the Paranormal from them is very similar.

The Paranormal seems to be available with the 250C or 75C. I have seen the Paranormal with 250C chip for sale around $140 online.

Very true, the 75C and the 250C seem to be real close in price, so might as well get the 250C just in case. thanks!

HCigar also makes several mods with the DNA chips. The HCigar VT75C is a single battery 75C mod, the HCigar VT75D is the dual battery 75C version (this is what I personally use), the HCigar VT250S is a 250W board (not sure if color or not) and can be run in either 2 or 3 battery configuration.

I have a lost vape Paranormal 250c. It’s dual battery, and I’ve had several tanks in it. You’ll have to use it in power mode with that kanger, so it’s overkill until you update to newer tanks.

Still, super nice mod, smooth vape. I only vape around 50 watts max, but better to have it and not need it.

Oh, and I don’t know if the deal is still on, but I got mine from fasttech with code MAP for under $120.
