Hmmm... I got noalox on the main threads... on the bottom for the hot spring works too? Where would u put it on the firing pin? Where it meets the center pin and insulator? This may be a revelation...

I just put a little dab where the pin contacts the battery. I find that it provides a more consistent contact and firing. I hope I'm not out to lunch on this process. :)

Did you get a chance to try it? Please report back with feedback, so we know if it worked or not. Thanks!

Noalox would help with the conection a bit to keep it from tarnishing after the nickel has worn off. Keep in mind though the Noalox will build up, so cleaning would be required a bit more often. Now that a year has gone by and many many Omega are out there in service. I am very pleased with the feedback. When I do the newer "How To" video I will touch more closely on a few areas of maint.

Nice... A little noalox works well on the end of the battery.... it seems to be more consistent and fires almost immediately... not sure if it helps on the actual hot spring. I applied a little to the bottom and it wouldn't fire at all until I cleaned it off.... maybe the wrong amount...

after gently sanding the springs, it seemed i was still having the intermittent firing problem (which i thought had been resolved), but each time i changed batteries, i would have to do battle again to get it to fire. by this time, i knew all the contacts were clean. come to find out, that only one of my 5 18650s will work with this pv because its flat top is not as flat as the others - and apparently the pin??? is not long enough to get through the delrin? disk to touch the top of the battery, sooooooooooo what is suggested to fix this issue? do i have to get a new center pin? or is there a home remedy that i can do? btw, all my 18650s work fine in the silver bullet and the p18.

could i file down the delrin? disk?
any suggestions?

it cannot slide any further into the cap. it's a very loose disk and falls out anytime i remove the cap. and now, after trying the repositioning of the disk, it will not fire at all again. <sigh>

sometimes it just seems less hassle to light a cig.

This is not at all how the disks are are on my two Omegas. They go in, I give it a tap and they settle to the bottom of the cap. They do not and are not supposed to just fall out so easily. Did you buy yours directly from AltSmoke or off the classifieds? Have you reached out to Altsmoke about the issue you are having?

i bought it off classys on a different forum. no, this is the only place i have mentioned issues (which i thought i had resolved at one point.
it seems like such a simple device that i don't understand why i should be having such frustration with it.

i guess i will have to call them when/if i get time. until then, i'll just continue wah-wahing about it. haha1/2

Some flat top batteries tops are a bit recessed. Take it back apart, when you put it together install an atty and seat it all the way down then back it off 1/4 turn, then assemble as you normally would.

you da man cddz! i did what you said, but i did not have to back it off - just put the atty on first.
it has been working flawlessly now - even after changing the atty and batteries.
