Nice build, kudos to you for figuring this out. Do you think Loki designed his atty with that configuration in mind. If he did why the frak didn't he tell anyone. All that cotton on the deck will certainly reduce the leaking. Great job there Cearamm but I still think you have made the best out of a ..... designed atty. I will give your setup a go tomorrow. I change cotton every day - is that going to be easy?

I believe Loki's youtube video shows building with a conventional coil and silica. I use cotton yarn in mine, doubled through a micro coil, wrapped around a #44 drill bit. After mounting the coils in mine, I push the coils down, until the top of the coil is about even with the top edge of the well. This puts the bottom of the coils even with the center of the air holes. As with any RBA or RDA, the critical factor is the placement of the coils in relation to the air holes.

My biggest gripe (well, perhaps my 2nd biggest, besides the whole leaking thing thanks to only 1 o-ring, down at the very bottom) is that is so tough to build thanks to the coils needing to be so close to the well/deck. If the holes were rotated 20 degrees CCW, this would be a much nicer atty to build on.

This was (I think?) my first ever build on this thing. My coils got all kind of screwed up as it's hard to adjust the coils once they're in place, as you can't use whatever tool you wrap around because the coils are so far below the wall.

Thanks, hadn't seen the designer's video before but it explains a lot. 7 and a half minutes to build the ugliest coil I have ever seen - is not for me. If I can't change out the cotton in under a minute I am not interested. I think your builds are much better than the designers'.

I do see how some people would be happy with it. Each to his own :)

As the owner of the real McCoy...
I'll defend this atty.

Flavour - Awesome
Clouds - Awesomer

If you build it right, it will outperform many, many others!

After helping out a few friends with clones, i've realized that A LOT of Omega Clones have the airhole in different places.
I have yet to see one with it in the same location as my real Omega.

If your atty sucks, dont blame the original, blame the clone...it's either that or user error.

or maybe i'm just talking out my rear, either way, my atty is working really well right now and always has.

I hear ya. The saddest thing is I keep buying this garbage. I have two 5 dollar gold trident clones that are a absolute brilliant vape with a single ribbon kanthal 3 wrap coil at .8/.9 ohms. Stunning flavor, clouds of vapor, a doddle to set up and the perfect air flow for me - but I still keep buying. I think I need rehab.

My Omega clone is collecting dust.

Hey Buzz, your coils are so far away from the airholes - don't you get too much throat hit with that set up?

yeah, no complaints...

As per the creator, the coils are meant to be above the air-holes, as i have them.... i never understood why people feel the need to cram them so low. counter intuitive really.

and FYI, that build came up to just shy over 0.5 ohms... in case anyone was curious.

The holes on mine aren't quite as close to the coils. They are still off center, but not as much.

I used the little holes to mount the coil legs because I find messing around with the top screws to be a PITA. But it was more of a pain to get the freakin wires in those tiny little holes when they're so low below the wall, the screws would have been easier to use.

They should make little posts to fit inside the screw holes that have a little slot in them, much like a guitar bridge pin.. then it'd just wedge the wire in with it.

Now that I know it vapes better with the coils up higher, I might try again. It'll probably still whistle though.

Just got a clone! Love it. (vs iGO-W) Earlier in this thread, people were talking about the air holes being off to the side. The clone I got has center air holes (pic) in line with the middle post.

I got it here: Omega RBA RDA Rebuildable Atomizer Clearomizer Stainless Steel Dripper Tank | eBay

Looks great with my turtle :)

As far as leaking, it hasn't yet. Actually my iGO did. For micro builds, if you put enough cotton, it will soak it up pretty good unless you put too much liquid.

Happy with it, and the clone is almost the same price as an IGO.
