I am loving vaping and smoked an incredible one pack of cigs yesterday compared to my usual two packs. That was incredible. I was thrilled.

I left the house today without taking my precious cigs and felt really good about it. Of course I did take my PCC and two flavors of cartos. I did okay. I didn't feel that freaky I can't live without a cigarette feeling but....I did really want a cig despite the fact that I really love vaping so....I took a nap and dreamed about cigs.

I already ordered some 24mg Ry4 this morning since I decided maybe 18mg isn't making it for me. That dream shows me that I am simply not getting enough of my nic fix. In the meantime, I went four or four and a half hours without smoking this morning and I am still not smoking but about half of what I normally smoke. Cigs really taste kind of nasty compared to vaping and I can't wait to try my new 24mg juice.

Congrats, hang in there, it took me 6 months to give up smoking.
I noticed your mention of a PCC, have you considered tank type atomizers like the CE3's?

Yes and no. I just started seriously vaping yesterday. This is going to have to be a one step at a time process for me since all these models and numbers and names is so confusing to me. I went ahead and ordered the fatter battery and pass through cable this morning along with a strong mint sample pack of cartridges, some more Ry4 cartridges and the 24 mg Ry4 refill bottle.

I am actually really happy about the Volt and I got the PCC right away so that I would get two batteries and be able to keep them charged.

I started at 24mg nic to kill the cravings and it helped, coming off about a pack and a half a day. After about six months I dropped to 18mg without a problem, and I'm starting to mix in more 12mg at 16 months. Cutting your smoking in half is a great first step - congratulations!

Thanks, it is honestly wonderful that I have cut back considerably and it hasn't been horrible.

Well I'm on my 3rd day of vaping...and I'm at the disbelief stage...in that I can't believe I'm smoking 1-2 cigs a day when I was smoking 2-3 packs a day. I am just amazed that it's working that suddenly. I started out on 24mg...and now I'm wondering if I can drop down to 18mg...but 24mg is working so well, I will probably stock up on that and order a few cartos of 18mg to test.

You are doing great, Grimwald. I wouldn't rush to cut down on the mg's so I think your plan is a good one. Why mess with success and you are doing so well. I decided when I went into this I wouldn't compare myself to others. I am me and I feel so good about smoking so much less. I really do think I need more nic. One time, I managed to quite smoking for a weeks or so but I was having this incredible technicolor dreams in which I was luxuriously smoking a cigarette. Seriously, one was like a scene from the Marlboro man and I was on a beautiful horse deeply puffing on my cig. Dreams like that. So, I think if I step up to the 24 mg I will be doing myself a favor. Analogs taste crappy compared to e cigs.

Congrats! I just went over a week with zero smokes for the first time in years, but it took a few months of vaping before I could do it. After a few mornings of not having a few with my coffee, it got a lot easier (for me). Keep it up.

Thanks for the encouragement and keep up the good work, johnnypanic.

Hi Grim , Not to thread-jack, but no, do not drop down, not for a while. You will know much more when the time is right, your body will tell you when you are ready to lower you intake. At day three you have just begun your journey. There is no need to lower your intake too soon, this is a sure fire way to all right back into anlogs, if its working now keep with what is working. All too often new vapers get a false sense of bravado just to be kicked off the vapor wagon. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Hello Renolizzie, I was a 2 + pack a day smoker too and started with 18Mg also. That definately helped me BUT I put myself through some really stressful days the first few weeks because I really should have started with 24 Mg. juice.

In my opinion you outta definitely use the strong stuff starting out. I know once I got smart and ordered the 24 Mg juice (I even burned through about 30 ml of WTA juice in the beginning) it got A LOT easier to forget about cigarettes and leave the thought of having a couple of them in the dust.

In all honesty, I think for most folks USING THE PROPER STRENGTH juice, giving up analogs completely is a lot easier than we first think it's going to be.

Renolizzie,

Good for you! Keep up the good work. I've been analogue free for 12 days now. This is my 2nd time around with vaping. The first time it didn't take because the method wasn't right for me, but this time I found a battery & system that works. Keep at it, keep reading & learning on this forum. There is so much to learn & don't be afraid to ask questions. Everyone is so nice here.

Agreed. I started with 30mg, and after a little over a year and a half I am down to 18mg. for the longest time I was using 24mg in the first half of the day, and 18mg in the evening. I have tried some 12mg, but I am just not ready for that yet...

Well, being cautious by nature [okay, I am a bit of a worrier:)] I went with the 18mg. It is a thought that I might even try the 30mg if the 24 isn't making it for me. We shall see. Thanks.
