I'd say you craved smoking. If it were just about the nicotine, the patch or gum would have fixed it.
Sure you can sub-ohm on regulated devices, but what he's saying is that there is no need to. With regulated devices you can reach high wattages with higher resistance coils.
The fear of that is one of the reasons I'm never even going to try.
The other reason it that I have no interest in building coils.
I stand by what I wrote, with regulated mods there's really no need to sub-ohm. It can be done, sure, but no real need to. I commonly vape at 25-30 watts, up to 50w with a dripper. I do use sub-ohm coils, but I don't do so out of necessity but because I prefer 27-28 ga wire. And there's the added benefit that I can use those builds on my mechs if I wish to. But, the point is, I could build higher resistance coils and still vape at 25-30w on my regulated devices (taking into account heat flux and ideal resistance for the used wire gauge at the chosen wattage is a good idea though).Isn't there? The thing is with me I am finding I prefer sub-ohming. As do a lot of other people. No I don't count those using the 1.2 ohms as sub-ohming. I actually find in my sub-tank it not to taste so good. It makes the flavor far too strong. Could be cause of how they are with higher wattages though. I prefer a smooth and flavorful vape. Not one that is kinda harsh and overpowering. I can't imagine wanting one higher in resistance. That is me though. Everyone is different. It seems though a lot of people like sub-ohming. Look at how many people love the sub-tanks. Many using them on regulated mods. Fact is they don't make sub-tanking obsolute. It instead gives everyone more options. People no longer need to go out and get mechs. Using regulated mods if far safer for newbies and a lot of vapors are finding they like them better. Hell if it wasn't for the advancement of regulated mods, we might not have gotten the Kanger Sub-Tanks or the Atlantis. So they have helped both sub-tank users and users of other tanks. Also remember not everyone is into building their own coils. Those using stock coils on those other tanks are going to find their going to burn up at higher wattages. Though the Kanger Sub-Tank coils actually hold up pretty well and taste great. Of course we tend to use higher wattages for these. Though on most juices I am content with 18 watts. When I get into rebuilding I may start going higher. But of course that like other things with vaping isn't for everyone. Especially the newbies. Technology wise there isn't a better time to be a vapor. We have so many options right now. Even though there will likely always be people who will want mechs, I think regulated mods are the future of vaping and things with them will only get better tech wise no matter which kind of tank you prefer. Though it is hard to imagine the tanks getting better then they already are. But it could still happen too.
These new temperature control mods are changing all that though.I stand by what I wrote, with regulated mods there's really no need to sub-ohm. It can be done, sure, but no real need to. Very true. I want see someone try to build a 1+ ohm coil with ni200 wireThese new temperature control mods are changing all that though.
