One lost puppy...

I've been looking around on this forum for a wee while now and I can't seem to follow most of it. ((Is vaping the same as using e-cigs or is that when you mix you're on flavours?? What is dripping?? And what are atomizers?!)) And that's only from the new members forum... I'm afraid to look at the others.

I'm a smoker of 10 plus years. I quit for 3 years but started back, off and on, for the last year and now I can't seem to quit (again) for good. A friend recommended electronic cigarettes, so I've been trying to do some research on what I should try. However, I hadn't realised there are 100's of types/styles/brands/flavours. I am just looking for something that can help me stop smoking or curb my addiction to something a little less harmful/smelly.

I used to smoke a pack or more a day but this last go round, I have managed to keep it in the 10 cigs/day range. I don't know if I would like all the flavours, as I've never really enjoyed flavoured cigarettes or the dryness of hookahs. I've been thinking that the tobacco flavour may be more for me just now, until I make the transition. But am I going about it wrong? Do the flavours matter or is it just the nicotine levels that I should be focused on?

Please help... I just want to get a starter kit that will help me quit... But which one???:confused:

Any suggestions on an easy starter kit?

A double set of Joyetech eGo twist or EGo-C upgrades. You will have them a long time and can move on up at a later date. I have may, regulated, mechanicals and still use my eGo-C upgrades for spares and stealth vaping. Couple 30ml Bottles of a mild tobacco in 18 or 12 mg nicotine and you are good to go. Just remember cheapie's will lead to frustration and make you give up on vaping. A good trouble free system you want to start.

A MVP would be good but get the one with the iclear 16 instead of the Iclear30. Get a extra 5 pack of replacement burners at the same time, This route would be half the price of the one above.

I second what Wheelie says. Your nicotine strength is the most important factor for you. Since you smoke 10 cigs a day I'd recommend 12mg of nicotine. Nicotine does not readily absorb in your system using ecigs, it takes a lil' longer than it does with a cigarette so you may find youself vaping on the ecig more to reach your nicotine level. This is normal. Good luck and do not worry about all the terms yet they'll make more sense as you get more involved with ecigs at your own pace.

Glad you joined us here at ECF!

Vaping is what you are doing when using ecigs.
An atomizer is the heating element that makes the vapor.
Dripping is a technique of placing a few drops of eliquid directly onto the atomizer and vaping (usually more advanced users do this).
The flavor will matter to an extent. You dont want something that is so bad to you that you cant vape it, therefore you arent getting the nicotine.
I suggest an EVOD starter kit. The batteries are good and the tank is not too hard for beginners. Make sure you get two batteries so you can have one charged at all times.

Hi I have smoked a pack a day for 25 years , I've been tobacco free now for 7 days thanks to vaping. Let me give you some advice, I too started out with electronic cigarettes only to become frustrated because I couldn't get enough vapor, no throat hit, and the batteries died constantly. I knew their MUST be a better way! That's when I got my first personal vaporizer or pv, or mod.it was a God send! I got plenty of vapor, battery lasted into two days with heavy use, and I was able to get that throat hit like with cigarettes. I was able to pick my flavors of juice to vape and their nicotine content. I did not have any withdrawls, or cravings for tobacco. I kept my nicotine high at a 24 MG because I was a heavy smoker and I'm completely comfortable. The mod or personal vaporizer has a atomizer on top that holds the e juice flavors. If your on a budget , just starting out like me you might enjoy the kamry X6. That is the mod I use. It has a 1300mah battery, adjustable voltage, and is a great little unit. You can adjust the volts or how hot the juice will burn with different flavors. It's sturdy and fits in your pocket and comes in different colors. It runs about 42 to 49 dollars. There really so many to choose from I suggest you go to your local vape shop and look over their vaporizersite and find one you are most comfortable with.you won't regret it for one second. It will be a great investment! I hope I have helped a bit and wanted to say welcome. This is a great community of wonderful understanding people! I think you will really love this forum. I know I do! Since I got my vaporizer I haven't touched tobacco! It's been a full week! No cravings, no misery! Vaping is really the way to go!

Here's a link to Discount Vapers, this is the starter kit I recommend to people around me that want to try this. It gives you everything you need to "start" vaping, except for the juice. DV eGo-T Starter Kit - Stainless - 1100mah

When they ask me about tobacco flavors, I refer them to a local vape shop to test out different flavors...they've been "smoking" tobacco flavors, but once they realize that they can have a NICE flavor, not the tobacco, they would rather have that. If you cannot get to a shop, maybe try the sampler pack a bunch of the ejuice websites offer... (My sister thought she wanted a tobacco flavor, but after tasting all the others out there, she'd rather have a fruity or bakery flavor) Your tastes will change as you progress, so a flavor you LOVE initially, you may grow weary of later, so just enjoy the experience....and good luck!!!

I would go with an ego because all you need to do is get a clearomzer once a month which has the atomizer in it and it is ready to go. As for ejuice get 10 ml so your not wasting money on 30 ml bottles if you don't like a flavour. I also found that RY4 was the best tobacco flavour closest to cigarettes. But everyone's taste buds are different.
