Well I'm at the one month point today, something that I never thought possible after being a 2 PAD smoker for 35 years.

Other than taste and smell I can't say that I've noticed a difference physically (may be too early?) but psychologically. Wow. Must say that I'm am proud of myself and feel pretty good at the thought that this (vaping) is really going to work for me.

The bonus is that the wife took interest and has been smoke free for 18 days now.

As far as saving money? Ummm, maybe in time but we have spent far more so far (we did RYO for that last couple of years that really cut the cost of smokeing). But the way I see it is no matter the cost to vape for us it's money well spent.

I'm here, when I'm here
Congrats ! Almost 2 months here and I haven't noticed much physical changes either. And I smoked 2 pad for 20 years. Probably can't notice them yet or too early. Overall I feel much better though.

If you're feeling much better, it's working. Everyone's different but it took about 3 months before I realized the difference. I was doing some minorly strenuous activity, which would have made me take a break or 2 when I was doing analogs, and when I was done it hit me. Said to myself, "Self. Glad you're vaping now? You did that with out stopping." I replied, "Dang sure!!" (am I talking/typing to myself??) :D

Good luck & Happy Vaping!! :vapor:

Congratulations! One month today for me also I think (after a one pack failure), and feel much better! Cough gone, taste and smell getting better, amazing! But my wife will be a tough nut to crack, no support at all. I'll need all y'all's help here to get that done.

Congrats on your one month. As you know something like quitting smoking has to be their idea and something they want to do. If I quit the first time someone had suggested it to me I would have been smoke free many years ago. :)

I think it was something that she had been secretly thinking about and when I pulled the trigger I think that it gave her the reason to give it a go.

YAY! Good for you and your wife! I'm only a couple of weeks past that milestone myself, and likewise coming from being a 2 PAD smoker for around 30 years. My husband is also doing the vape thing with me, so we are really having fun with it together, and even though we've been spending a lot to set ourselves up (esp. now doing DIY liquids, buying a bunch of flavors as a base), it hasn't been as much as buying 3 packs a day, and we feel great and healthy and happy. Smoke-free since the beginning of January is like an amazing dream. Welcome to the real dream, and vape on! <3

But my wife will be a tough nut to crack, no support at all. I'll need all y'all's help here to get that done.

aaaah, that's rough, but I think, maybe just don't try to crack the nut? I mean, I told my husband I wanted to do the vaping thing for the new year, and that's what I wanted for Christmas, so he bought me my setup and some liquids to try while he was still smoking regular cigarettes himself. I kept him updated on my experience, and he tried it himself, and I didn't push it at all, and after a couple of weeks he just started getting into it. I *wanted* him to get into it, but I didn't push it, because I react very badly to pressure, so I try to not press people myself.

It's kind of a totally fascinating hobby thing, so just sitting around vaping different liquids and enjoying it should attract interest. Having a couple of different tanks around with different flavors for someone to try might be a way to promote the idea. I say this because I should have started this a couple of years ago, the first time I encountered an e-cigarette, but it was unfortunate that my friend was vaping an apple/menthol thing, which is sort of last on my list of YUM FLAVORS, and I didn't get a good impression (I thought e-cigarettes were like apple-menthol, or similar).

Have one popular tobacco e-liquid loaded in a tank for her to try, and a nice fruit, plus maybe another couple of popular flavors on hand that are sort of dessert or bakery types in case she's interested. Don't pressure her, but have some flavors around that she might love. There's a difference between hounding someone to quit, and just offering them a puff of a flavor from an e-cig to see what they think. Amazingly enough, I got my husband kind of hooked with Halo Voodoo -- something I thought he'd hate! :) Good luck to you both!
