I like vaping! I feel so much healthier, it's great beeing a non smoker!!

I have, like many other newbies, been on a more or less never ending vape accessories shopping spree the last few weeks. My first kit was a E9 with pre-filled cartomizers. Ran out of fresh cartos after one week and got Greensmoke cartos - they were a perfect fit for my batteries - thanks to information found in this forum. I prefer their tobbacco, coffe and vanilla. Then ordered 510 Boge cartomizers, both SR and LR, adaptors to make them fit E9, one Joye PT VV, one Joye Dura 340 mah slim battery and a selection of juice samples. AND liking all my new stuff so much - I went on with buying two SD Keyring sets, a selection of different cartomizers, clearomizers, Elic 'eGo-style' gigantomizers and XL clearomizers.

I experience foul taste from all the wick style cartomizers! Is this common? My favorite juice so far is Janty Elixir PG Vanilla medium strenght, and this is what I have been filling them with. Must say that I get a much cleaner taste from the Boges and the recyceled GS cartridges....

The wick / clear cartomizers (all more or less SR - on my VV PT at 3,2 and 3,7 v), besides taking a lot more juice pr filling, has been a great dissapointment. The taste I get is slight plastic/ rubber and from time to time a burned taste. I have given them time to wick up the liquid (over night) and what I experience is this: First couple of draws: plastic taste, then a couple half decent draws, onely slight plastic taste, and with constant vaping the taste soon turns to slightly burned. They are not running dry. I leave it to cool down and start the same cycle of off taste again...

Is this normal. Is the nature of the flavor (straight vanilla) causing this off taste? (Thinking I might not have noticed with a tobacco type of juice....) Anyone experiencing the same?

CONGRATS on quitting cigs and starting vaping. I wish you further success, you'll be gaining the health benefits associated with vaping soon enough.

I'm assuming that your talking about the clearomizers that you bought. Clearos or CE2's are known to have wicking issues. Which can attribute to some of the problems that you are having now. The best thing that you can do is invert it. So that the juice can get into the ceramic cup where the coil is located. You will have to do that every 5 hits or so to get "consistent" performance.

As for the flavor, there isn't much that can be done. There are different opinions about the taste. Some prefer Clearos/CE2's since they claim that the flavor is much cleaner and prefer these over cartos. And others like cartos better. It all comes down to personal tastes.

Ce2s have great flavor but I have yet to get one that doesn't need a little tweeking first.
The seal that goes around the ceramic cup that you fill through with a needle is pinching the wicks a d preventing them from getting a good juice flow. That needs to come out with a bent paperclip or something similar. Be careful and patient. You want to pry it up a little in one spot turn and pry it up a little in another spot. If you do it to fast you could pull out the whole center tube and ruin the whole thing. There is you tube videos on this. Just do a search on cleaning and dry burning a clearomizer. The one I like is by a Guy named shado. You have to take and cut the wicking slots a little bigger and just replace the seal. Once you have done this believe me you will be in vaping heaven
good luck!
