New here.. what's everyone think of the vape bans going on? Thing big tobacco will succeed? I'm in California and vaping helps my anxiety, without resorting to pills. I know it's not the best outlet... but it's helped me quit smoking too. I started in 2010 and never turned back.. been 9 years now.. now they want to take this away from me.

The only thing keeping me semi-sane.

Hi and welcome,
Stock up on DIY nicotine and rebuild-able devices.
A liter of 100mg/ml has been enough for my wife and I to vape for 5 years. Her=12mg/ml, me=6mg/ml.
My biggest expense is DIY flavoring and that is not going anywhere.

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Cheers
I

Actually depending on what anxiety pill they gave you, well, you might actually be better off vaping.

Given the taxation bill in the house on nic (it will rise by about 9K per liter) now WOULD be the time to try DIY if you haven't yet. If it suits you, you may want to stock up on some nicotine, it would save you a considerable amount of money and can be frozen for storage. Always a good thing.

In any case, welcome, my prediction (given the big "maybe vape shops will be exempt from flavoring announcement) that they see them as cash cows, they are the biggest buyers of wholesale nic. The tax would of course be handed over to the consumer, and states will then tax the buyer as well.

Glad to hear it's helping if you want more information on all things DIY nic related go here: Random DIY mixing and More

Good luck and welcome to ECF.

I recently bought 2 gallons of 100mg/ml nic salts for about $330. That's about a 42+ year supply for me. $330 is chump change in the grand scheme of things. Added costs are PG/VG, flavorings, glass bottles, scale, syringes, etc. But I estimate it costs me about $1 to $1.50 per month to vape as much or as little as I want, without fear of ever running out of juice. DIY juice is definitely worth the investment and peace of mind.

It's also fairly easy to get a good mix, it's not terribly complicated, many recipes available online. If you seek help here at ECF.. many of us will be glad to help

Been there - done that. Lots of european vapers like me stocked up before the TPD hit and general uncertainty about upcoming regulations and a deeming ban threatened. Although regulations did not lead to a ban I‘m happy I stocked up for lifetime. Prices went steep compared to 2014 and discussions about more taxation in my country confirm it was a good decision.
Get yourself some PG only based high nic (72mg up) in brown glass bottles with argon argon gas (will prevent nic oxidation) PG has sufficient anti microbic property so no freezing will be necessary to store longterm without risk of degradation in your lifetime. Cool (basement) storage and light protection are sufficient. Glycerine will always be available to mix it down to your desired nic levels.

For me it was a good investment - Should I ever quit vaping I still could sell some off without any loss.
Don‘t hang your head - act while you can.

Furthermore thoughts on rebuildables. I also stocked up on those then - those i stocked up back then are still sitting in a box on a shelf. My vaping habits changed over the years - I stocked up MTL back then.
In retrospect I should have bought a variety of devices that did not offer the prefered draw characteristics. Fortunately that is no issue as there was no total ban although here in Austria they forbid online sales and so that oversight did not bite me in the end. On the positive side now I have some classics on the shelf that collectors would be happy to pay a premium to get.
If you want to stock devices also think of spares and buy simple built robust quality devices.
